“We shall.”

With the speed of her movement to wind her arm around Grant’s elbow and bring herself closer to him, Kasumi managed to again take the young man by surprise. He couldn’t help but stare down at her as she moved in so close. This must have been a cultural thing, for you don’t normally take the arm of a stranger. Grant certainly wasn’t used to it. But, he quickly regained his composure and began to escort the kitsune through the busy crowds towards one of the conventions restaurants, called “The Jolly Jumbuck.” A funny name but it was based on an old poem and had a large picture of a sheep that was baaing, illuminated in neon. It was an all you could eat restaurant, though that did have a fine print clause that you didn’t eat so much that you exploded.

Going up to the front counter, Grant asked for a table for two. The young pimply faced young man wearing the paper hat and cheerful smile handed Grant a tray with two plates, cutlery and two cups. “Go down to table 12 and we shall bring you out the complimentary break sticks.”

Thanking the young man, Grant tried to carry the tray, with Kasumi still threaded on his arm. Naturally, many of the customers were watching the pair come in, a few were whispering – much of it was about how cute Kasumi was. One young boy was egging to pull her tail. Children…

http://visualioner.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/121127i6.jpg

Finding their table, they were seated close to where the long buffet bar was. A virtually smorgasbord of delights with hot and cold dishes, salads, all kinds of roasts, soups, pastas and of course a massive desert buffet with a ice cream vending machine. The variety of scents and smells were enough to make you salivate, and already there was something of a line up by the hungry patrons.

Pulling out a chair for Kasumi, after setting down his plate, Grant asked.

“Would you like me to get you a drink, while you go fill up a plate?’

Kasumi was actually entirely used to doing this, she had even done it with her brother… ahem. Father. Kasumi had to shake that subject out of her head, considering it was a slightly taboo… subject. She had done this with her father of course, but with her brother having gone missing long ago, she never talked about him. Nor did the rest of the family. Her only family left was him, if he was even alive. But anyway, not the point here. Typically, this wouldn’t be completely customary, in fact it was a bit different than what most would’ve done. Normally, in a country like the one Kasumi’s family hailed from, this might have been slightly rude to a stranger, however new places require amendments. Hence why Kasumi had a tendency to . . . do this. Once they had entered the restaurant, Kasumi almost immediately began to feel overwhelmed. She grew up for a hundred years as a fox for crying out loud, and even then her family was more traditional in the end. Her ears continued to flick, honestly avoiding saying anything about the whispers she easily picked up as though she was whispering with them. She didn’t see the young boy who was wanting to pull her tail, and if she had she would’ve pulled her tail out of his reach in an instant. Luckily they got seated soon though, which made things a lot better.

Kasumi looked at Grant with a smile, nodding at his question quietly. Normally she’d do it on her own, but it wasn’t polite to refuse a request from a gentleman.

“Thank you, mister Taylor. I will take you up on that.”

Perhaps she seemed fairly out of place talking the way she did, but that was how she was raised. It was a bit abnormal, but her family had come from an older era than most. Feudal Japan wasn’t the kindest back then, and it was strict on rules as much as it was pride and honor. Two things Kasumi took seriously. She didn’t take long to really get everything together, going after the things she knew she could stomach, which meant a lot of meatier products. She did have a canine’s internal system after-all, corn and things like that didn’t agree as much. Even with a more human body, it didn’t always agree. Depended on what it was. Once she’d gotten to the table again, she sat and waited on Grant, letting him return before she started. Politely, and patiently. She’d embarrassed him enough for one day.

There were so many different types of food to try in this amazing little buffet restaurant. Grant had taken the liberty of getting Kasumi a drink from the beverage bar, and brought it back over to their table. It was as he was setting down the glasses, that there was a god awful blast of light, much like lightning smashing into the earth right outside the restaurant. It was enough to rattle the very panes of glass within the window frames and brought about attention from waitresses and patrons alike.

“Woah!” the young man was shocked by the sudden blast of light and even put his hand up to shield his eyes. What on earth could have caused such a thing? Taking a peek past one of the waitresses, he saw the arrival of a very large being decked head to toe in armor. Exquisitely made and so shiny. Wow, this convention went all out with who they invited. The pyrotechnics were amazing. Yes, Grant thought this was part of some Hollywood like show to give the convention goers a thrill. Had Grant known who it REALLY was, well, he never would have believed it.

“That must have taken a month of Sunday’s to make. Wow, I wonder if he works with the costume department at Burkett Studios?” So many questions and Grant couldn’t help but continue to marvel the armored man, as he entered the restaurant. The patrons parted like the red sea to let the man through where he was followed to his table by another man. Both had weapons on. Holy cow! Grant was a little awe struck by the whole thing. He had completely forgotten about Kasumi.

“Sorry I got so carried away. So, fancy some soup…or maybe you might want to take your pick of the salad bar?” He was not entirely sure what Kitsunes ate.

Fu:  Rooftop Nearby

https://i0.wp.com/i58.tinypic.com/oi6r9c.jpg

-The male once more appeared , this time above a rooftop while gazing off into the distance . His mind and his posture had showed that he was here on a mission , not a simple traveler yet he did look like one . The male pointed his head upwards at the sky towards the white sphere ; Celestia as if being before God’s very presence. He kept his gaze up towards the sphere while his hands weaved in a pendulum-like pattern.-

” With my eyes I percieve the potential in your irregularity , with my brain I can imagine the possibilities , with my hands I will sculpt the path for you to take , with my heart I shall give birth to this new deceit . Come forth , Abyssmal Core

– A large rumbling sound could be heard by all and all shaken from the tremors , regardless of distance within Alteria . A Dungeon appeared within the walls , but only Grant could sense this place directly and get there without any trouble. As if a link was established. The dungeon was located in the fields between the palace and the rest of the city , but it was shrouded in a dark mist. –

? ? ? ” Come………. Come find me……….. It is your destiny to make me yours. ”

– The Purple haired male would smirk and walk away before uttering out a phrase once more before leaving the area .-

”And with that , the stage is set. The world is your stage , so get out there.”

Second Dungeon : ” Abyssmal Core ” Unlocked

The new Star Wars trailer that blew people away.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of the Star Wars movies.  My first real love of Science fiction and space stories came from the very first Star Wars film.  Now, with the release date of the latest in the Star Wars line being announced for Christmas 2015, the first of the trailers has been released.  What truly is amazing is the sheer scope of love for the franchise.  From around the globe, people from all walks of life simply love the Star Wars tales.  For your viewing pleasure, I will post the actual trailer that saw Disney stocks rise by over 2 Billion dollars US.  (Shocking, I know.)

And this is a video montage of the fans reacting….

I have to admit, hearing Mark Hamill’s voice as Luke gave me goosebumps, along with seeing Darth’s helmet.  My favorite part however, was seeing Han Solo and Chewie again.

Inferno Kingdom | Element: Fire (2) •- The Enchanted Wars.

Inferno Kingdom | Element: Fire •

There were few things that Nagos and Dracus ever agreed on. Both adversaries due to their distinct natures, it was actually very rare to see them both smiling about the same thing. Nagos acceptance brought Dracus to walk across the room and offer his clawed hand to shake – sealing the deal between the two. The King for once was actually happy for once, and on breaking the hand shake he sung out for his adviser.

“MORA! COME HERE AT ONCE!”

Standing just shy of the entrance, since she had taken care to be one step behind Rina; she entered the throne room and bowed before both of the great dragons.

“You summoned me, my Lord Inferno?”

“Yes…where is Rina? I told you to send her to the throne room when she returned from wherever the bloody hell she has been spending her day.” Dracus’s dark mood was going to return if he was not appeased. Mora noted this immediately, her eyes shifting from Nagos, whom she nodded in acknowledgement to, before looking back at her King.

“I have not seen her as yet, my Lord. I was on her way to her chambers when you called for me.” This was not far from the truth, but it would do for now. She needed to grant Rina more time to gather her things and read the note. The King snarled, marching over to the diminutive red head and staring down at her darkly.

“Then….go….get….her.” Each word said slowly and in a precise fashion. So he was clear on what he now wanted. Mora quickly bowed and spun on her heel, hurrying out of the room leaving the two dragons alone once more.

“So hard to get good help these days, Nagos. Course…you know that already.”

Mora hurried down the corridor, her skirts whipping up behind her as she hoped that when she reached Rina’s room, that she would have read the note and already fled.

If she had read the note in her pocket, this is what it said:

Dear Rina,

I can no longer protect you from your uncle’s wrath. I have received word that he plans to send you with Nagos off to the dark lands, a place where many go to die. It is ruled by Ethel, a black dragon and one you never want to meet. Gather your belongings, and take flight now. I hate to see you go, but it is for the best. There is a contact at the entrance to the Portal. His name is Wren. An old friend of mine. He will grant you papers to help you shield your identity on the other side and make it harder for Dracus’s spies to find you.

I am so sorry that I cannot come with you. My place is here, to keep Dracus distracted as long as I can.

Forever your friend,

Mora.

Rina read the letter silently, her crimson eyes slowly having lost their glow as she did so, her anger subsiding and her effects on the surrounding environment finally beginning to fade with her anger; but that anger soon rekindled as she read yet again. Rina was slowly growing angrier and angrier with her uncle for putting More and her into this kind of situation like it was of no consequence, his damned tricks and antics were finally grinding on Rina’s nerves to the point that she wanted him dead. Dead and gone; but, the problem was, Rina didn’t have the strength to do it.

Rina let out a growl as she crumpled the paper in her hands and tossed it straight into the fireplace, taking a quick breath
before blasting a stream of flame into the fireplace through her mouth. After setting the note on fire, and making sure it was turned to ashes entirely, Rina immediately turned straight to getting her things together; considering making a small pocket of space in her Esoteric Flames in order to store them better and not weigh her down. Esoteric Flames are flames that are magical in concept, allowing the user to do more than just ‘burn’ things; which is what allowed her to create a single flame and set it on her bed, tossing clothes into it as fast as she could. She could always just remake the flame later, pulling things out as needed unharmed, which meant it was time to get serious about everything else.

Rina planned to change everything the moment she had the chance, and just as she reached the window, about to jump out with her wings spreading out behind her; she caught a glimpse of something left to her by her father before he’d died by “unfortunate circumstances.” The ring made of gold infused with flames underneath the surface, he’d given it to her mother before she died; perhaps not the most romantic of gifts, but the ring burned a brilliant shade of red underneath the gold, never burning anything but instead simply being the way it was. It was precious to Rina, and she couldn’t leave without it.

Rina darted over to the stand she kept it on, looking at it quietly before slipping it onto the ring finger of her right hand, taking a deep breath to prepare herself just before she heard footsteps. Not wanting to risk who it might be, the Draconian girl shot for the window, stopping in front of it just before jumping out, her wings flashing out behind her with a rush of wind; flames began to burn along her wings as she flew, using them to propel her at a higher speed with every flap, causing her to be gone in minutes. However, she really didn’t understand that whoever had come to her room as she jumped out…..

They would have seen her.

Razorbackwriter:

Inferno Kingdom | Element: Fire •

There was a bright flash. Oranges, reds, yellows. Marvelous to those that had not ever seen the draconian girl in full flight, but Mora had – and she knew by the unmistakable burst of light that the girl had read her message and taken heed of her words of warning. The royal adviser had missed the girl all by as little as thirty seconds, but it was enough. Mora entered the abandoned room. A slow smile creeping upon her face, but it was also marred by a certain sadness. Why should the poor girl have to flee the home of her father? It was all so wrong. Dracus who was blinded for his hatred of all things human, or even remotely related to them, could never see the beauty of the girl, nor the wondrous powers that she had inherited from her father.

Slowly, Mora crossed the floor of the room and stepped up to the window ledge where Rina had taken off from. Now her fate lay in the hands of others. Her friend Wren was waiting for the girl at the portal between worlds. Her only true hope was to leave this land forever. As much as Mora wished she could see the girl again, she knew in her heart that she must let her go. Her job was to keep Dracus from finding her. His wishes were for her to spend a lifetime of misery serving others, so he didn’t have to be reminded of what she was. The royal adviser placed a hand on the window ledge, still feeling the heat trail the girl had left behind.

“May you find happiness in the other world.” She thought to herself, as the booming sound of Dracus finally reached her ears.

“MORA! MORA!”

The King had grown impatient, not to mention that he wasn’t actually all that keen on Nagos’s company. He came thundering down the hall. The footfalls so loud that they were making the very walls quake and the windows shake. He turned into Rina’s room and stood there with hands on his hips.

“WELL?”

“My…Lord. Rina…she…uhm…’

“SHE WHAT?” His eyes darted around the room, but he couldn’t tell that her things were missing. He was just incensed to be kept waiting.

“WELL?” His eyes falling back to the red headed adviser, who suddenly brightened.

“She went…shopping.”

“SHOPPING?” The King repeated the word as though Mora had lost her mind. Mora on the other hand was quick thinking. It was one of her strengths. “Yes. You see, there is this ball and well none of her gowns were suitable…so she went shopping to buy a new one. Wanted to impress you, my Lord.” Mora held one hand behind her back with her fingers crossing over, silently saying her prayers. The King stood there almost dumbfounded. Since when was Rina every trying to impress him. “I hate Balls. Bloody tossers dressed up in cheap rags like bloody harlots and sly skanks. Only men that go to those HAVE no balls. Poncy gits! Why would she want to go to one, hmm?’

“Maybe…to find a suitable male to marry and…then be off your hands or…help form an alliance.” Now this was really clever thinking on her part. She watched the King for his reaction. It was important to buy the girl as much time as she could, and also get Nagos off her back. The seconds ticked by as Dracos mused over this.

“An alliance by marriage, huh?” Dracos started to stroke his chin as he considered this. In the wake of the current situation with Endora, it wasn’t such a bad idea.

“Right. When that girl gets back from frock shopping, I want her presented to me. I might go to this blasted ball after all.” He went to turn as Mora breathed a sigh of relief, only to see him face palm at the thought he had to deal with Nagos.“Well bollocks. Now I gotta find some poor strumpet to go and keep care of Ethel’s kids.” He shot a look at Mora, who nearly died at the thought of being sent to the dark lands to work for Ethel.

https://i2.wp.com/fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/139/a/3/A_Portrait_Thing_by_DayLight13.png

“Nah…I need you here. You’re the only one that has any real brains in my staff. Ugh….carry on.” he waved his hand dismissively,. as he went back to the Throne room to get deal with Nagos.

As soon as Dracus was out of earshot, Mora fell back and sat on the bed. That…was close.

Anzac Day 2015 – 100 years on.

One of the things I love about living in a small outback town, is the sense of community spirit.  Today, was one of those days where the pride of our community was on show with nearly two thirds of the whole town coming out for the dawn service for Anzac Day, 2015.  It’s been many years since the last Anzac passed away, but in the centenary of the first landing at Gallipolli, there is a sense of renewed pride and respect for those men and women that fought and died in all wars.  From Lone Pine and the actual beaches where the Australian and New Zealand forces made their ill fated landing, to the likes of my own town memorial, the outpouring of love and respect for the fallen is stronger than ever.  So many have relatives that have served our nation and its allies over the course of the last one hundred years, and there is a resounding sense of pride in the fact that in adversity, mateship shone through.

As Australians, we embrace the Anzac spirit for what it means.  We forged our identity as a nation…as a people.  Those that served will never be forgotten.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Ruby – Part Eight : SS.

Zu:  Ruby heard the question that Valmont asked, following what was written on her board. Ruby only seen this words being said and written in letters she would see when killing targets in their homes. She had quite the memory of these words, and surprisingly could write them out too. Ruby came up to Valmont and took his hand, giving a small tug to her direction to indicate that she wanted him to come with. There was no way Ruby would leave Valmont alone, not after what they’ve went through recently. She couldn’t fight the urge to go where her mind was taking her. She never once felt this way before, to try and really find out about herself. Maybe it was Valmont’s kindness that sparked this into her conscious, but that would mean it was there to begin with.

Ruby, once Valmont followed her lead, went to the front gate and looked for the carriage that Valmont used when they first meet. It may be a long journey and unlike herself, Valmont didn’t seem like the type for long distance travel without a little help.

Razorbackwriter;

The Embassy of Hell.

https://38.media.tumblr.com/7667f7a14ff0b13c9be5715fc9ae272c/tumblr_mw84fw5Xzv1qajzcfo1_500.gif

The small tug on his hand made Valmont aware that Ruby wished to leave the Embassy and begin a quest of sorts. The only thing was that the Ambassador had just returned to the Embassy, and wasn’t sure if he should just rush off now, what with the orders he had given Zachary. The ambassador frowned for a moment, since he was tied between his duty, and that of his friendship for Ruby. In a way this was like cutting class, running from responsibility on a journey to God knows where. He thought about this for a moment, and saw that his travel carriage was at the ready just beyond the gates.

“I should go see them first.” Speaking of his adviser and secretary. But Ruby was insistent. She wanted to go, and now. Valmont fell into step with the hooded girl and walked with her to the gates. She only stopped to look up at the carriage, and then back at Valmont, conveying her wish to use it – just by the way her eyes shone at him.

“Alright…alright.” His hand motioned for her to get aboard. The driver hopping down gingerly, and opening the door for the couple. Once inside, Valmont checked his purse. He had more than enough silver and gold coins to pay for their keep in which ever inn or tavern that they stopped at, and he had a trunk of clothes on board – just in case of an emergency.

“Let’s go then.” He banged on the door of the carriage when he and Ruby were properly seated. The carriage spiriting off when the driver cracked the whip.

~RB~

Zu:  Good, now Valmont won’t have to walk long distances. He wasn’t used to it, he wasn’t the type to go anywhere without some type of transportation. Ruby, however, has been walking through Hell all her life. Ruby got into the carriage before Valmont and took her seat beside him. She wondered where they’d go, or if wherever they were headed was even remotely helpful. Ruby just couldn’t shake this feeling, no matter how hard she tried. This had never happened before, the hidden desire to do much of anything when it came to what she wanted. Looking at Valmont, as they rode off, she wondered if it had anything to do with him. Maybe she wanted to actually speak to him, which was a first thing she ever considered when it came to interaction. Whatever the case, she leaned against Valmont, resting both her body and head onto him so she could get a few minutes of sleep.

The carriage had to make a halt, and the sudden jolt caused Ruby to fall forward. However, being aware as she was, Ruby was able to catch herself before falling face first into the seat. She looked around, a tired expression on her face. How long was the ride? Ruby turned to Valmont, wondering just what was happening. She saw that this was some place she’s never seen before, and put on her hood just to be safe. If Valmont were to ask why they stopped, the driver would say I’m sorry Sir, but it seems our horses are tired. They just need some water though I would like to have a few drinks myself. Once we leave, they’ll be a place to stay. I know exactly where it is. They would have to deal with that, for without horses there would be no carriage. Ruby jumped out and looked at the place they were at. It was a place with people in weird outfits. She turned to Valmont for an answer.

Razorbackwriter:

Bar/Brothel

In the back of the carriage, even Valmont had dozed off. The carriage ride taking much longer than imagined and after trying to stay awake, the ambassador succumbed to sleep. That was until the carriage came to an abrupt halt, causing Valmont to lurch forward sharply. He woke in time before going fully ass over tit, but he wasn’t able to save Ruby, who had managed to face plant into the seat in front of her. It would have been comical, had it not been for the tired expression upon her face. Valmont helped right her when she looked up at his inquisitively. She was at a loss as to why they stopped, as was Valmont. The driver was the one to advise them of why they were at this destination. The horses were tired, and it was hardly surprising. They had come so far without rest. Opening the door, Valmont assisted Ruby out, and nodded up at the driver.

“By all means, once you have watered the horses and stable them, I suggest you have a good meal and a few drinks. I know I could use a drink.”

Being the gentleman that he was, Valmont escorted the hooded Ruby inside the establishment. One thing about these sorts of places, it was not for the faint hearted. Women of the night were draped across paying customers, mostly travelers and traders. Music was playing with a jaunty beat, and behind the bar, a rotund inn keeper was wiping out a glass, as he stared at the new arrivals. They were hardly dressed for travelling, truth be known – especially Valmont. He had not had time to change, so he was a little overdressed for the establishment.

“Can I book three rooms, and we’ll take a table now.”

“Yes, Sir.”

The Innkeeper was quick to find them a table, which he cleaned off briskly. Other patrons stopped what they were doing – their eyes following the pair along, which might have made Ruby feel uncomfortable. Valmont drew out a chair for her and waited for her to sit.

~RB~

Zu:  Thank you Sir, it shouldn’t take too long really, he said with a grin on his face. It may have seemed he wanted to stop here himself, but the horses were visibly tired too. When Ruby entered into the Brothel, she noticed even more weirdly dressed demons. Ruby had a feeling this wasn’t normal, but it seemed everyone was fine with it so she would be too. The people here did have this odd gaze, looking at Ruby, making her retreat into her hood and stay even closer to Valmont. They wondered what a little girl was doing in a place like this, with Valmont no less. He was well-known, after all. Ruby was sat down thanks to Valmont, and she watched him take his seat. She pulled out her board, which surprisingly she was really good at communicating with.

? was all she added to the board. She had no idea what this place was, she’s never seen it. It was clear by her facial expressions alone.

Razorbackwriter:

Brothel/Bar

Valmont should have known by the look of lust on the driver’s face that he picked the brothel for a very good reason as a place to stop and rest the horses. Shaking his head at their predicament, Valmont resigned himself to having to bring Ruby into such an establishment. No doubt this was not exactly a suitable place to bring a child and by the looks others were giving them both – along with how she was looking at them, this was going to be hard to explain.

Sitting down opposite Ruby, he saw her write the question mark on the chalk board. With the bar returning to normal and the laughter along with crude talking going on – as well as some rather shocking behaviour, Valmont rubbed his cheek and winced. Temptation was all around him and he grabbed a fork off the table to take under it, just so he could stick it in the back of his hand to stop his own lustful thoughts.

“It’s a place of ill repute. A brothel.” He gestured towards a woman that was straddled over a demon, with his face practically buried within her massive breasts. The man was making licking sounds as well as saying some pretty rude things about what he was going to do to her.

Valmont rolled his eyes and stuck the fork deeper into his skin. This was pure torture.

“I think I need a drink. INN KEEPER!”

10CC – The things we do for love.

“The Things We Do For Love” was written by Eric Stewart, G. Gouldman.

Too many broken hearts have fallen in the river
Too many lonely souls have drifted out to sea,
You lay your bets and then you pay the price
The things we do for love, the things we do for love

Communication is the problem to the answer
You’ve got her number and your hand is on the phone
The weather’s turned and all the lines are down
The things we do for love, the things we do for love

Like walking in the rain and the snow
When there’s nowhere to go
And you’re feelin’ like a part of you is dying
And you’re looking for the answer in her eyes
You think you’re gonna break up
Then she says she wants to make up

Ooh, you made me love you
Ooh, you’ve got a way
Ooh, you had me crawling like a dog

Like walking in the rain and the snow
When there’s nowhere to go
And you’re feelin’ like a part of you is dying
And you’re looking for the answer in her eyes
You think you’re gonna break up
Then she says she wants to make up

Ooh, you made me love you
Ooh, you’ve got a way
Ooh, you had me crawling up the wall

A compromise would surely help the situation
Agree to disagree but disagree to part
When after all it’s just a compromise of
The things we do for love, the things we do for love

The things we do for love, the things we do for love
The things we do for love, the things we do for love

God sometimes, in all honesty she couldn’t blame him. He was the type of guy who didn’t get out much, but she was extremely brash and hot-headed. Though, at least now she was calming down. She let go of his coat, nodding to each question as an affirmative, well. Not every question. She had to struggle not to let her temper go flying out the window again, considering it was a potential risk to her health in some cases. If it ever got strong enough anyway. Yes she looked young, and by Kitsune standards she’d barely be considered in her teens. Let alone a full-grown Kitsune. Kitsune could live for thousands of years on occasion, if they were lucky, and most of the time by the time they got to that age they had become Nine-Tails.

But MAN was this guy clueless with women. Ooooooooooooh she wanted to punch him so badly~ All she wanted was to just sock him, sock him nice and good right across the head~ But, no. No no no no. She controlled herself. Kept telling herself no every time her hand began to clench up and prepare to sock him. He was oblivious, he’s not good with women, probably doesn’t get out very often. It’s ok, it’s ok, it’ll alllll be ok. With a huff of her own, Kasumi followed the man inside, having no real other place to go at this point. After a few moments of looking around at some of the people who dressed up as Kitsune, it eventually just got annoying to Kasumi. Especially after the incident only moments ago. She wasn’t very far from Grant, in fact she was still staying close by to make sure he didn’t do anything stupid with those swords. She didn’t care if she had to follow the man into his own room, she wasn’t letting him out of her sight. After all, it was her fault that he’d even gotten them in a sense. In fact, just to keep up a front of some sort, Kasumi was willing to answer any . . . serious questions that Grant had to ask, though she did walk up to him eventually and spoke softly, her hands hooked together behind her head.

“Look, I’m young by Kitsune standards, yes. In fact I could probably be considered to be a teenager if not a young adult in their twenties by our standards. Some members of our race live for thousands of years on end, growing stronger with every day. Some obtain a Nine-Tail Status, becoming incredibly strong among Yokai. Only thing is, that is rarer than anything else. And to be honest with you, my parent’s deaths aren’t bothering me anymore. We live incredibly long lives, full lives. When we leave, we leave with no regrets. Normally anyway.”

Of course, Kasumi was referencing the fact that her father himself regretted never apologizing to her uncle for what he had done. Not that anyone could really understand what that meant. Yes she was a chatter box, but she wasn’t one to be trifled with. In fact it might be better that she was talking and was in a happy-go-lucky mood. If she wasn’t, then there was a chance she was intending to kill. That’s how she was raised after all. Traditional family, traditional methods.

~it’s not easy to be me~

Being humiliated by the kitsune in public like that was just another blow to Grant’s self confidence. Sure, he seemed to take the verbal spray, but the haunting memories of his childhood and adolescence came crawling back, like maggots under his skin. Coughing, he reached into his pocket and took out a pair of thick glasses and with a shaking hand he placed the glasses on, as he then went for the program of events for this part of the week long series of conventions. The man’s shoulders seemed to gather forward, and he bowed his head as he tried to meld into the crowd and get away from that girl. Girls were something he had a lot of trouble understanding. From the first crush that he had in the fifth grade, who humiliated him by believing that she actually would go to a movie with him, to the night of the school formal when he was crushed after being set up with what he thought was the girl of his dreams. A real sweetheart, or so he thought. He was left sitting on an empty veranda with a corsage that would never be worn. it was easy, oh so easy for Grant to fall into a cycle of habit that brought him comfort. His love of comics, anime, fantasy – where in his mind he could be the hero. He could be the one that all the girls want, or be just crazy and have some sort of respect or adulation. He came to these conventions religiously. It was like a rite of passage. An escape from the real and cruel world, that he had always felt he was not a part of. Not truly. In his years since college he had opened a thriving comic book and collector store. Traveled the world collecting the bizarre and unique. Being part of table top tournaments, all the things that people considered…nerdy. So no, he didn’t understand women….and he didn’t get the Kitsune at all.

Grant was a simple human being. Nothing fancy, nothing flash and super powered. But in his heart, he wished he was.

Here he could hide behind a mask, or a costume and become something unreal. For a weekend, he could live the dream.

Right now, he was unaware that the kitsune was following him. Darting between the crowds of people dressed either partially, or fully as furries, he didn’t realize that kasumi was on his tail till he heard her voice. Turning around, he was fidgeting with his program and giving her a look like…why are you following me?”

Grant listened to what she had to say. About how being five hundred years was akin to her being a teenager, as odd as that sounded. She said that they lived incredibly long lives and that when they die, they have no regrets. If this was true, then it was a charmed life. Grant had many regrets and many times that he wished he had the guts to say what he truly felt, instead of keeping it bottled up within himself.

The wrinkling sound of the paper between his fingers would show that he was still nervous around her now.

“I’m….not good with girls.” The earlier display in the castle had a lot to do with the joy of the moment, and he lost himself in the Queen’s presence. Here, he was faced with dealing with someone that was seeing him for what he truly was. A simple man.

Kasumi at least noticed that the male was attempting to get away. But he probably could have at least remembered that she wasn’t human. Her senses were far above that of a normal creature, after all she was like a canine in some respects. She followed him mostly by sight, but in some cases her sense of smell came into play due to losing sight of him for a moment or two at a time. In this kind of crowd, even a Kitsune like Kasumi had to admit it could be difficult to stay on track of a target. Once he’d finally responded, she simply let out a small breath and set her head in one hand, giving him the courtesy of a small chuckle. Not in an insulting way, but in a way that was just amused. After having done so, she looked up at him with a calm face, speaking with a small smile on her face.

“Well, I’m not trying to be a bad person here, but to be frank it’s kind of obvious you’re not too good with women. But that’s fine, just watch some of the things you say and you’re fine. I’m just hot-headed, so I apologize for the scene outside.”

Kasumi ran a hand down the back of her neck, closing her eyes for a moment as her long hair ended up being pressed against her neck for a moment, only to open them again as her hand fell back to her side and she let out another small breath. This was Kasumi for you, if she was in the wrong she’d at least apologize. When it was due anyway. Her temper might go flying off the handle on occasion, but she couldn’t blame this guy for what he did. He obviously wasn’t the type who was good with women. Which wasn’t a problem, he wasn’t the only guy, in fact it only made Kasumi feel bad for having snapped without warning. But that’s how she was. After a moment, her smile returned, as she leaned up with a slightly chilling look in her eyes that showed she had some mischief in mind.

“Well anyway~ Since you’re not so good with women, how about you start getting some practice in that department. And don’t get the wrong idea either. I’m going to need someone who knows what the hell they’re doing to show me around, considering I’ve never been to one of these.”

Kasumi was trying to make it up to the guy in her own way, even if she was too stubborn to say it out loud and not put up her conniving little act. She needed a distraction too. Considering she’d been let down about her uncle as well, so maybe this would be a good way to distract her. Who knew? Everything was locked away, hidden behind that happy-go-lucky and conniving attitude.

Kasumi was stating the obvious when she realized that he was not very good with his social habits around women. Really to understand women, you had to get to know them, or have some as friends. Grant didn’t have that, nor opportunities too. Maybe this would be a good thing, if he was to be like some sort of tour guide for her around the convention hotel. Though she looked to be like those dressing up, she was the real deal. No pulling or stroking her tail, that was for sure. Grant did have an urge to tweak those ears however. Odd how he found them attractive. The way that they moved and flickered. It was kinda nice. Though she was talking to him, Grant’s eyes kept going upward to the top of her head, and then back down to meet her gaze.

Grant threw his hands up in mock surrender, when Kasumi said not to get any funny ideas. Sure she was pretty and all, but getting past the fact she was really super old, was going to be a hurdle and a half.

“I won’t try anything, honest.” Which he meant, as he said it with a slight nod.

The crowds continued to move around past them, some stopping to take in Kasumi’s swinging tail, others snapped pictures with their phones and go pro devices. It was just par of the course at these sorts of things. Grant hadn’t planned to dress up today, not since he had been on the palace tour. It just didn’t enter into his head.

Thinking of where to take her, the first thing he thought was perhaps one of the convention food halls.

“Are you hungry? I know a few good places. One has an all you can eat buffet?”

Perhaps she would like to do that first, rather than have to mingle with all the suited human

Kasumi had a feeling that the kid was probably going to be fairly nervous, after all he wasn’t very good at expressing himself around women. After all, he hadn’t realized that even with all the movements of her tail and ears that they were actually real. He was just that type. Then again, there were plenty of men like him. At least he wasn’t a pervert though, she had to give him that much for sure. She actually got annoyed a lot of times, because of the very fact that some of the more . . . lecherous customers flocked to her on occasion. It was very, very vexing. And it made her want to strangle them. Even if a quick explosion of Fox-Fire nearby typically scared the bastards off. Which….. was honestly fun to do to people. Kasumi noticed him watching her ears every time they twitched, which amused her more than it bothered her. She tilted her head when he said he wouldn’t get any ideas, debating if she she should tease him or not. …Nah, time to be nice. Kasumi smiled and clapped her hands together at the mention of food. Nodding as she did. Turning slightly, she looked up at him with a calm look.

“Shall we Mister Taylor?”

With a quick, and definitely practiced motion, Kasumi stepped up next to Grant and wrapped her arms around his elbow. After all, this was how she was raised. Traditional family, traditional methods.
