Guess who is coming to dinner – Part Five – The Greed Kingdom : PD
Dessy: They all seemed to come to an agreement that Tessa and her brothers were indeed going home. That was good – Mariela didn’t have to force them. It made things easier. Sean and Sam chatted, and when Mariela looked to Tessa, she noticed Alice was being nosy and asking a bunch of questions. She eventually turned back to her brothers, joining in their covnersation, as well as Tessa whenever she could get a word in. Otherwise, whenever Alice stopped talking.
She never noticed Scar staring, but she had eventually pulled her hand away from his when the food came so she could eat. She ate the food placed in front of them, talking and occassionally laughing, smiling the entire time. It was nice to talk with them again after so long. Really nice, in fact.
She stopped talking whenever the raven landed in front of her, before laughing at Scar’s comment. The others didn’t notice the raven. She reached over, gently pulling the letter from the raven and watched it fly off. She then opened it, her eyes scanning the letter.
“Scar, what time is it?” She then asked, her eyes still scanning the letter. “I – as well as you and the others – have to be at the Witch Circle at eight. Apparently it’s very important, and someone by the name Lavinia Ramoska summoned me. Apparently, she has always been… watching me?” she said, confusion on her face as she turned and handed the letter to Scar for him to read. Alice was going to stay here, under very careful watch by the guards. Mariela knew that much. Now, Mariela just needed to know what time it currently was, and where the Witch’s Circle was located.
Kingdom of Greed – Castle
After flailing his arms at the raven that had now flown away, Scar looked back at the Princess, who was reading the contents of the note that had been delivered by the cheeky raven. The Princess inquired as to what the time was currently. Looking back at the large grandfather clock in the hall, Scar said. “After three, why?” Naturally he was curious as to why it was so important to know what time it was. It had everything to do with the letter she was holding. Only it wasn’t a letter. More like an invitation or summons.
According to the letter, Mariela as well as her family and Scar have been asked to join the Witches Circle at eight o’clock. The Witches circle? Why was it that Scar had not heard of this before? Not even when Lydia was in charge of things, did he know of the other witches in the realms. He assumed, and wrongly that Mariela was the only one.
The more she read, the more worried that Scar became. Some mysterious Elder witch called Lavinia Ramoska had written the invitation, and to add to the mystery of it all, the letter claimed that she had been watching the Princess for some time. The whole thing sounded really creepy.
“You can’t be serious and actually want to go and see some witchy tart that has a fetish for watching young girls do you?” Yes, Scar was totally out of sorts with the idea. He looked at Tessa and Scar along with Sean for back up.
“You three gotta admit that this sounds fishy. Any of you know this…..Lavinia person?” He was looking for support as the last thing he wanted was to see Mariela put in harms way.
Scar could see the confusion and conflict written all over Mariela’s face and he wanted to put her mind at ease. But just as he was putting his case forward, a map appeared magically on the back of the letter – pinpointing the exact location of the Witches Circle. That alone made Scar’s skin crawl.
“Oh my god….is she watching us right now?” Scar looked around and then even popped his head under the table.
“Stop watching us, you pervy cow!”
Dessy: “After three. So we still have time then.” Mariela said, looking at Scar. Scar seemed worried, which would make sense. After everything else that’s happened, it made sense to be worried about this sudden invitation out of nowhere.
“You can’t be serious and actually want to go and see some witchy tart that has a fetish for watching young girls do you?”
Scar spoke, and Mariela turned to him. “Scar! I think you’re blowing this out of proportion.” she spoke. “Nope. Never heard of her.” Tessa spoke, looking over to Sam and Sean, and the boys shook their heads. Mariela thought about it before shrugging. “I think it’s worth a shot.” she said, looking at Scar. “Everything will be fine.”
When she handed Scar the letter, she saw the map appear. She gently took it back from Scar, flipping it over and looking at the map. “We’re going.” Mariela said with a nod. “Finish up here, then we can all go back to our rooms to get ready. We have quite a few hours, so we can also get our guest…” she looked at Alice. “… settled in.” she spoke, before looking at the others. “Sound good?” she said, and the trio across from her nodded.
She then reached over and hit Scar on the shoulder. “Stop it!’ Mariela scolded. “I don’t think she’s watchng us. And if she is, let’s not call her name’s. We don’t know this person or how well we can trust her.”
Kingdom of Greed – Castle
It wasn’t surprising that Scar had trust issues when it came to strange magical women. He didn’t know this Lavinia from a piece of toast, and yet they were being invited to some Witches Circle. The invitation itself bore magic as it showed the way with a map that appeared on the back after Mariela had wondered where it was. That alone suggested that the sender had a great deal of magical know how. The new Princess believed that Scar was blowing the whole thing out of proportion, and was sure that everything would be fine. Where this sudden certainty came from, the alp didn’t know but he wasn’t fully in agreeance with the young witch on this. Scar huffed a little, whilst pushing himself back in his chair. Mariela deciding that they were going and would leave after getting ready. There was the matter of settling in the guest as well. Knowing full well what Alice was like, Scar jumped up after be scolded by Mariela for calling the unknown witch names.
“I’ll take Alice upstairs and deal with her while you all get ready for this…..circle thing.” He didn’t have a pleasant look on his face, but you could see he was determined to get the young Alice out of the way. For now at least.
The young girl in blue was eating a muffin when she was yanked from the chair she sat in and dragged out of the room at speed by the wily alp. She protested that he was being a bit rough, but it fell on deaf ears till they were well out of ear shot. Alice turned and stomped her foot indignantly at the treatment she received.
“What ever is the matter, Hatter? I barely had something to eat. No cup of tea or treat”
Alice was speaking and rhyming her words with a nasty scowl on her face. It was well known that the young girl had a temper, especially when it came to food, and not getting enough of it.
“I think the Princess is making a HUGE mistake. I don’t trust witches.”
“But….she’s a witch.”
“Yes…but she is not like that. She’s a good witch. What is to say that this lot in that circle aren’t a bunch of child eating old crones? Hmm? Hell bent on gobbling up the life essence of someone….like you for example.” He gestured with his gloved hands at Alice in such a way that even Alice got a fright. “Oooo then I don’t want to go!” It was enough to frighten the poor girl, who could see Scar’s point. Scar patted her shoulder and started to lead her up to a guest room. “Right, then you stay here and don’t get into mischief. No shenanigans. No going where you don’t belong.” He reinforced. Stopping at the door of one of the available guest rooms, he opened it and allowed her inside. “Don’t leave here till we get back, okay?”
‘Yes, Hatter. I get to play Princess trapped in a tower for a day!” Alice wanted to turn this into a game, and kissed the Alp on the cheek before going inside. “Don’t forget to rescue me!”
Scar closed the door as the young girl giggled and talked to herself. That was Alice out of the way for now. But he had more pressing matters, like taking the Princess to these witches. Why did it feel like he was about to hand his love over to the Witches on a silver platter?
“Oh I have a bad feeling about this.”
The Alp then marched off to get ready.
Dessy: It was silent as they headed back to Greed castle – with good reason, most likely. Mariela wasn’t sure what was to happen now after the events at the Witches Circle. Considering she just threatened everyone there, as well as the other kingdoms, it probably wasn’t a good thing. But Mariela was prepared for anything they intend to throw her way. She turned her head to look behind her, seeing Tessa and her brothers following behind. She gave a smile, before turning to look at Scar.
“Well. Looks like I have made a few enemies…” She spoke, clenching her teeth together and making a bit of a face.“Threatening them probably wasn’t such a great idea. Might have been a mistake, actually.” she said, coming to this realization. “But I guess all royals have to have a few enemies, right?” she then said with a shrug. She gave another smile, before looking forward as they climbed up the steps to the Greed castle, giving a nod to the guards.
She walked into the castle, the door shutting behind them as she turned to look at everyone else. “Now, I suppose the first thing we should do is check on Alice.” she said, moving her hands up to untie the cloak from her neck. “I don’t know the girl, and being how she came from the mysterious place behind the mirror, I don’t much how much she can be trusted.” she said, now taking the cloak and draping it over her arm. “I know she’s a friend of yours, Scar, and you know more about her then I do. I just… don’t quite know what to think of her yet.” she said, looking at Scar.
She then turned her head to look at Tessa and her brothers. “Second thing is to get you three home.” she said, moving her eyes between the three. “You three have been here long enough, and I don’t want you guys to still be here should anything major happen. So we need to figure out a way to get you three home.” she then said, looking back at Scar. He should have a way, right? She certainly hoped so… “Now. Let’s go find Alice. And hope she didn’t get into any trouble…”she said, turning back around to start walking forward again.
New chapter begins next – The Witches Circle.
