Its just past midnight and time for some music to chill to. This clip is a little suited to MTV of the 80’s, but you can’t help but be blown away by the voice of Steve Perry. Such power….gotta love it. Enjoy! ~RB~
“Oh, Sherrie”
Knowing how I made you feel
And I should’ve been gone
After all your words of steel
Oh, I must’ve been a dreamer
And I must’ve been someone else
And we should’ve been over
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, I want to let go
You’ll go on hurtin’ me
You’d be better off alone
If I’m not who you thought I’d be
But you know that there’s a fever
Oh, that you’ll never find nowhere else
Can’t you feel it burnin’
On-and-on
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, Sherrie
[Instrumental Interlude]
Oh, Sherrie
But I should’ve been gone
Long ago, far away
And you should’ve been gone
Now I know just why you stay
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Oh, Sherrie, our love
Holds on, holds on
Hold on
Oh, Sherrie
Such a classic. The jeans too tight for any one man to wear and the hair. I wanted Steve Perry hair when I was growing up in the 80s. A classic

I just think the song is so romantic…and come to think of it, skinny jeans were the rage though….

Not your typical love song … especially since the 80s were known for some seriously sappy ballads … but it is quite romantic.

I remember this song from when I was a kid. One of my friends had the 45 and we made a joke that one of us was going to spit on it and then it would sound like oh (sound of someone spitting) Sherrie, and from then on I could never hear the song without hearing somebody spitting in the middle there. Sorry, I had to share. Nothing against the song, BTW.

I love how the song evoked that memory for you. Now I am trying to imagine Steve spraying the word “Sherrie” LOL.

Yes! A blast from the past, when every girl was named Sherrie, or Sheryl, or Shannon, or Sheila. Or Jennifer.
