Okay, I might not be getting the cultural references here, but I thought this was really funny. Does that make me a clueless American? Not sure. Please provide guidance and counseling… 😉
Not clueless at all. What was wonderful about this comedy, was how Indian Australians embraced typical bbq culture with a laugh at the Aussie way. Lamingtons which is chocolate and coconut covered sponge, was substituted with lamb, to make Lambingtons, a play on an old Aussie favorite. Making a bbq from bricks, old bits of fence and the neighbour’s gate was a real send up of the rough outdoor bbq. My dad’s father made one like that, but without the neighbour’s gate. All in all, the clip was a good poke at the Australian way, through a multicultural sense of humor.
