This trailer featured on SBS last night, much to my surprise. I can say as a fan of fantasy genre and Oz comedy, its the perfect show for me and I can’t wait to see it. RB
When hackers threatened that they would release the details of members of the website Ashley Madison, they meant it. Now, the details of millions of subscribers, their account info and more is up for view on a place called the dark web. The repercussion of this was that people could start to be found out having extra marital affairs.
Making this sort of information public, it wasn’t long before the radio stations got in on the act, one in particular who asked listeners that if they suspected their partners might be on the data base to call into the station. If you ask me, that was like opening a can of worms publicly.
One listener who had heard a woman say that she was single and a member of the site, rang up the station with a suspicious mind about her partner and his behavior of late being odd. Money going missing, working different hours. Now, the DJs could have taken the call to private and not announced it live that her suspicions were correct and that he was in fact on the data base.
On social media, the camps are divided as to whether this woman should have just checked the data base herself first before even going live on air about it. Some say the DJ producers are at fault, others say that the DJs could have been careful about what was said. Either way, there were no winners. The woman hung up after giving her two cents on how disgusting the sites were.
Personally, I would have done my homework first, before calling a radio station.
I don’t normally speak out about my views on gun control, but the most recent shooting in the US just has me wondering why the US government can’t enforce tougher gun laws. Surely, the public has the right to be able to go and enjoy a simple outing like a trip to the movies without the threat of being shot and killed. Gun control laws work. They have worked here in Australia since the Port Arthur massacre; a tragedy that rocked the nation to its core, and led to the changing of laws in gun ownership and the gun buy back scheme. In this video, by John Oliver, who investigates the reason for the lack of better governing of the laws in owning and storing of guns as well as why there aren’t enough stringent back ground checks on those that wish to purchase them. It shows quite clearly just how crazy the situation is. People should not have to arm themselves just to go out and spend the day with family and friends. ~RB~
As a Queensland supporter, I am pretty excited about tonight’s second match of the State of Origin for Rugby League. Queensland vs NSW. Only thing is its being hosted in Melbourne…Victoria. This hilarious video demonstrates what the Queensland, NSW and Victorian TV watchers think. It’s pretty spot on.
Hey Guys! Razorback here.
New look blog today. After playing around with some ideas, I finally settled on a new header and a new profile! Yes, I am still the girl from the bush, but with my love of art, words and music – I felt the need for a change. You know what they say, a change is as good as a holiday.
Have a great day!
I know when I am writing, I love to listen to music to help me get inspired with a scene or a character. Be it a combat scene with something dark and ominous, or say a romantic ballad for one of my lovey dovey scenes. In the movie Xanadu, the muses were the daughters of Zeus and this song in a way is inspiring. One of my writer groups asked if anyone was alive (due to a few not posting.) I posted up this song and announced proudly that I was definitely alive.
