Kingdom of Alteria : Nautical District (2) – Shattered Dimensions.

Many are gathering to join in the quest, but will they be up to the task?

Zetta: Unable to speak, no longer having feet planted to the ground.. Last thing he recalled was his super-speed getting him back home to beat the sunlight.. His direction went disarray upon the sudden combination of Alterus, mixing in with the standard fable that the man had been accustomed to.. While traveling back to his own Manor, he found himself in the middle of foreign land. Near a large boat. They called those ships, though with due to origins he never had any business going out of the country and was blind-sided by all this water that surrounded him. Confused to the utmost, the vampire looked everywhere around him, finding nothing to be clearly visible but blue. One’s four limbs outstretched in panic, for this one felt that he no longer had the freedom to move as he normally did.. Trapped, the man was caught within something. He forced his mouth open, only to draw in volumes of water in an instant. Now he was gargling, rapidly running out of air, if he did not act to escape this he would die in this viridian Hell…

No! The vampire would reclaim his pride and reach the surface to survive, even if he had to claw his way up.. The claw on his hand weighing him down evermore, but not withholding his super strength from continuing to swim upwards. Although this was only a first experience for him, he would overcome it with his damned ambition! In such efforts, momentum seemed to be on his side, despite gravity formerly pushing him back. He zoomed to a peak of the aquatic surrounding until sunlight flashed upon him through the depths.. He would die when it touched him, since he had yet to refuel the gauntlet of midnight black. There was little hope here, but that could not stop him, the feeling of suffocation was terrifying to say the least. Facing death, he charged ahead even stronger, with reduced effort for some reason too. The effort input bared results, Delecaux finally ascending the watery graveyard. He sighed lightly, glad to have overcome the challenge, and bowed his head towards the light cast above him. But instead of instant-death though, he felt an extreme pain on his shoulders and then his entire upper-body burned. Unbearable, from one pain onto another.

Again, putting his body to work, his eyes scanned for a place to duck under to be covered from shade. It was here that he realized something peculiar.. He was standing, not floating in water, but firmly stood atop the substance. This was inconceivable, what had the water done to him?.. Unbeknownst to James was that he had acquired a multitude of abilities, being strengthened by the combination of all universe’ vampiric essences. It would come later on to his knowledge, for now he knew he needed to find his assistant, if the being even lived still in this plane. So he ignored this conundrum entirely to focus on stability. One thing that was obvious was that he wasn’t home.. But he was still burning, with this new-found power to control his every movement, he locked onto the ship, rapid-flight propelling him to the back of the large structure.. The man would be comfortable as a stowaway for now, in order to survive. He was still awed that he had escaped death twice already, having not a clue as to where he would be headed now either. With one deep breath, he counted down all of the scents he gathered on his way to the back of the ship. In time he would make it to the deck for a formal introduction with someone.. Anyone, who maybe able to give him some better direction.

Hibu:  The sky was mostly clear, with a feeble temperate breeze circulated throughout the district. A mild gale that would’ve kissed one’s complexion was surely to give a satisfied feeling. The feeble clement wind weaved though and around various bushes and trees, causing a soothing rustling sound come from the depths of the shadows. Fluffy, gray, cotton candy appearing clouds cast freely here and there over the district’s surface. A plethora of items displayed at each store, which were sure to satisfy you. The flaming red star, which was imprisoned in the sky, and died every night to let the moon live, ray’s shown brightly the throughout the district. The citizen appeared happy and little disagreed with the Kings and queens plans. Throngs of people migrated in a rush towards the dock, for they knew soon the ship would be leaving. In this throng was juvenile figure with black cloak that covered her body. Grayish platinum hair, two twig like horns sticking out appearing unique, and a tail that swayed back and forth armored with scales. thus, one could clarify she was Drakon. They’re said to be mythological creatures, hunted for years and forced to alter their appearance into humans. the female was hiding her wings as she didn’t want judgmental eyes peering at her, it wad like they were mentally poking her soul.

“This is taking to long!”

the petite figured yelled with feeling very inpatient. she needed room, the fact of being crowded with no personal space displeased her. thus, she drifted from the migrating mobs of citizen. in a corner it seemed she was alone, but something was just unsettling. there was a murderous feeling was within the air. the stained blood metallic odor long within the air causing a disgusted expression to surface. she sighed not even tempted to look into the incident that had happen.extending her right arm to her left shoulder, Matsu could firmly angle her finger adjusting it to the cloth. in a blink of an eye the cloak was thrown off of her revealing her body built and her yellow intimidating eyes. She was wearing a dark turquoise sweater, denim shorts, with raspberry dyed hightighs, and a pair of combat boots. Thus, with no one supposedly watching and free space, Matsu would manifest her dragon-like wings. Matsu angled her legs to certain degree catapulting herself within the air. within those few seconds, Matsu would flap her dragon-like wings. The airborne female’s ruby lips formed into rather pleased smile. As she was flying into the air, Matsu’s body was now horizontally now. The air blowing upon her face satisfied her as she headed towards the dock. Every so often her wings would flap to maintain altitude. But soon she’d arrive at her destination, the ship. Now with her body “standing” vertically within the air. Altohugh she was within the air the female descended because of the lack of her not keeping altitude with her wings. But she’d had with on foot on the planks of wood. Some looked amazed others weren’t impressed and she’d agreed, but not many darkens exist.

“That was a lot more refreshing than walking”

the female looked to the male with blue hair. Shuzen was his name, he was quite popular amongst the district, but something about him didn’t seems right. He was watching every individual who had entered the boat. Her yellow eyes peered at him cautiously, it seemed he was memorizing every detail of each being. this didn’t seem the bother her.

“Hello Mr. Shuzen it is an honor to meet you”

the female bowed to show her respect, although her race use to be an intimidating one, Matsu didn’t like to bow to ones she found suspicious. Usually she wouldn’t stick her nose wear it’s wanted, but this seemed to be a special case.

Devon was glad that Eru had come with him, his emerald eyes showed it; but now he was curious about her reasoning? What reason did she have to come with him? Was she trying to pay back some sort of debt? If she was then that was pointless, he hadn’t done anything for her to feel indebted to him about. Was it some other emotion that he’d somehow elicited from the female? Curiosity? Interest? Anger? Something that had made her come? He really couldn’t tell with Eru, it was confusing for him. He had always been naturally good at telling the fluctuation in people’s emotions, just a natural instinct that kicked in for him around others despite his social awkwardness, but with her it was like he was reading a stone wall sometimes, aside from her bouts of anger anyway. Perhaps this enigma would solve itself as time went, he certainly hoped that it would, he didn’t want to make her his enemy. Devon was silently walking, moving slowly with every step so that Eru wouldn’t fall behind, he knew that wouldn’t help anything either. It didn’t take him very long to get to the docks, and as he walked up he gave a small nod in acknowledgement to Shuzen, but didn’t speak. It’s how he was after all. Sure he looked weak, but he had the persona of someone who could do more than anticipated.

Kasumi had to admit, Grant was an interesting one at this point. Sure, she didn’t notice that her own brother had followed her onto the ship, but she was too busy following him and trying to keep an eye on the guy so he didn’t get into trouble. God, it reminded her of the relationship between George and Lennie in Of Mice and Men; the guy was annoying at times, but he grew on you at the same time. Currently though, she was busy trying to keep him out of the beer so he wouldn’t be drunk when they got to the island.

“Grant!! Stay out of the beer! If you start drinking I’ll need a drink, and neither of us will like that!”

Kasumi was going to say more, but she was bumped into by a male with a crimson jacket, white pants with a strange style in mind, but she didn’t pay it much mind as she spoke apologetically, or she would have if he hadn’t beaten her to it. The most prominent thing in his apparel? The red watch around his wrist, seemingly over-sized unless one knew what it had been for.

???: “Oh sorry about that, my fault there. Heheh.”

After having apologized, he was quick to walk away, leaving Kasumi to look at him with a bewildered gaze on her face. But she soon shook her head as yet another male with bright scarlet hair with a scar on his face walked past with a face that looked like it was full of thought, but still had a smile on his face despite that.

She took noticed of him and rose an eyebrow, recognizing him for a split second as the one who had come in through a teleportation circle with a crimson rose insignia. Kasumi didn’t think much of it though, she went right back to Grant immediately.

All his life, Grant had wanted to go on a ship holiday. Oh those tv infomercial shows that said all the fun, joy, sex, dancing and of course beer you could want on a floating fun ship was just what Grant needed after that trip to the dungeon. This was going to be great. Hell to the fact that they were going over as a fighting force, he’d totally forgotten about that when told about the beer and refreshments. Grant was so fast up that gangplank that you would think his ass was on fire.

Was he about to become the ship yobbo, or bogan? He pulled out a funny hat that he had picked up at one of the comic conventions. It was one that had two beer cans on the top with straws for drinking through. It meant that he had his hands free for the food! Grant wasn’t dumb. He knew that this sort of caper would be approved of. Hell, the politician fancy pants had said to enjoy himself……and enjoy himself he would.

If Kasumi thought that Grant was annoying before, she was about to see this unique and rather special side of him. He may not be wearing the mask now, but damn….he had the spirit to know what a good time was. He even pulled out a packet of condoms and showed them to Kasumi.

“LOOK! I brought protection….GET IT?! Protection…Ah ha ha.”

A few girls in tight camo tops walked by and Grant let off a huge wolf whistle.

“Hello Ladies! I’m Grant, I’m a Leo and I like comics, anime and tight bike pants. Fancy sharing a beer?”

Where did this sudden confident streak come from? He had read one to many cruise ship flyers. He honestly thought anyone could get laid on a ship like this. Even a nerd like Grant.

“Wanna suck my mint? Ah ha ha.”

Departing Theme

– It was finally time. There was no longer any time to wait, the bridge to the ship was finally being pulled by a couple men who worked under Shuzen as he himself began to walk to the middle of the deck with a glass of champagne in his hand and a microphone in the other , smiling and nodding his head to the newest female who had boarded and allowing her to be one of the last few on board. –

Ship Center Deck – Announcement

https://i1.wp.com/i57.tinypic.com/24w7wjm.jpg

” Well how pleased I am to see such valor in the hearts of all these people standing before me today. I say , everyone please raise your cups and give yourself a good shot ; you’ve truly earned it for coming all this way to stand up for your nation. As you may now the ship is getting ready to head off towards the island at this time , you are free to say goodbye to your loved ones , or maybe till you see them next. I would give you all the advice of sticking together so your chances of death aren’t likely , but of course your fate brought you here ; and I hope fate has more then just a swift end for you in store . So let us rejoice as we head off ! Cheers and allow our combined efforts to be the victorious side ! ”

– The ship emitted a loud noise as the horn was blown and it was time for the entire ship to have begun moving . The ship followed the sea’s currents ever so persistently ; gently rocking forward and then back as it slowly set off towards the sinking ”Sun” that was artificially made . The blanket of darkness would slowly coat the sky and give them all the sensation that things will soon get real . Were they up for it ? Only their future encounters will dictate and define who they are as people. Will these beings be able to size up to the Demons in Hellgate …. ? The ship continued onwards, further and further from their safe haven ; Alteria would soon fade and the Prison would come into view.-

Red barely muttered a dry hi towards Shuzen, given that he was way too aware about where they were going, what was happening there, and the fact that he grew suspicious of any politician who did anything that helped others he decided to not pay him attention or even give him more seconds than required of his time. He said hi, he moved on into the ship…and he decided to take a look back at the people that was climbing in. Grimacing as he looked at all of them…this was the “fighting force” headed to help during the riot?…

Stuck in some party boat with people who look as green as my mother’s food…just great…

Red had a really bad feeling about this, but most of it had no comparison with the disgust he felt at the pit of his stomach. They were on a party boat, they were basicly throwing some sort of party here with beer and such while people was actually dieing on the field trying to hold the prison, and to top it off everyone seemed so relaxed that it got Red on his nerves, clearly causing his fur to raise as the inner guardian within him asked himself if most people outside of his home behaved like this in the face of danger. This was meant to be a serious mission but a part of him felt that this whole thing was being taken like a joke…

Just relax…go grab a bite…practice a little…relax…

He got into the buffet area, searching for some food to relax his stomach as he went straight for the meat…something that caused many people to just give him curious looks, given that they were watching a carnivore in the fur of a humanoid rabbit, and for a moment things remained well…he even managed to feel some interesting powers around. But his relaxation was cut short by a certain male who he had his back turned to. His ears twitched as he turned around and watching as he pulled out those condoms and then began telling his jokes and going after the ladies

You have to be kidding me…

Red’s fur seemed to turn into needles as he just glared with his crimson orbs towards this male. Here they were, about to go into a mission that might take the lives of half of the people on this boat and this guy suddenly felt like drinks and some quick sex with the ladies on the boat might be a good idea. Anybody would have laughed…maybe sighed or look away…Red felt clearly offended, showed he was clearly offended by this behavior…it was ridiculous, wasn’t this a mission of sorts? Didn’t this people had any sort of discipline. He just shot his arms into the air, clearly annoyed as he just growled under his breath

I’m surrounded by idiots!

He spoke loud enough to be heard, receiving some nasty looks from some people that he just returned with such hostility that some people looked visibly shaken. He had a long day, a longer night, and he had to put up with too much on a daily basis and now this, the bunny was way too grumpy so he retreated towards a place where he would be free from both this people and his own annoyance. He was going outside to shadow box until they arrived, or else he was sure that he was going to punch someone so hard they would crash into the after line at mach 8

The ones causing trouble at Hellgate better be good…because I’m really itching to turn something into red pudding by now

Floor Host: “Enjoy your drinks my friends, things will get risky for everyone when we arrive, so have fun; today’s drink may just be your last. We can never know what fate has in store for us, however we can always live without regrets. Cheers, to all of you, for doing this for your country, families, and nation~!”

The male had spoken only with the purpose of warning the men and women who had decided to go on this voyage that the path ahead would be difficult and would warrant possible death. How they took it was their choice, however he meant well and the smile on his face proved it.

Kasumi had been listening to everyone and everything while she was dealing with Grant, but the last straw came with his joke with the condom AND the girls. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh he’d done it now. Kasumi froze, her form slowly hunching as she tensed up every muscle in her back and shoulders in anger. The Kitsune was not happy at all with that, the only thing that would’ve been obvious to Grant was the ominous tone in her voice as she spoke to him quietly.

“Grant….. do you know what I did with Hirai Hime so I can shove it down your throat?!”

Kasumi was just about to lunge at Grant then too, till she heard a voice mention idiots. There was one problem with his voice that ticked her off to a point that made her Jaki leak out for anyone with an ability to see spiritually connected abilities to see. The humans with weaker wills around Kasumi, oh they began to act crazier too then as well, which is the biggest effect of the Jaki of Yokai. But right now, the fiery wind-like aura that shifted around her form was enough to tell she was now agitated and hiding her strength was out the window, it was easy to see in her now, and it was overbearing for those who didn’t have the physical ability nor spiritual ability to match the five-tail Kitsune; who was already abnormally powerful. She wasn’t even exerting her Fire Fear though, which is what made her so curious.

“OI! I’m no fool, unlike this dumbass fucker I call my companion!”

Kasumi wasn’t happy, but she wasn’t looking to fight…. yet.

Kingdom of Alteria : Nautical District  (Anime Adventure Quest)

https://i1.wp.com/i60.tinypic.com/2rgp548.jpg
The land closest to the sea and the area in which the sea trading is most frequent. When people come to this land they could practically smell the ocean. The land here is actually hovering over the ocean unlike the rest of the land. The section here is mainly decorated with sky blue themes and the largest most prominent building here is owned by the Leader of Sea trade and nicknamed God of the Sea . Be careful in approaching the building ,the company may not be forgiving.

Matt:

Akio was slipping through the streets of the Nautical district, his crimson eyes flowing over the buildings, people, and animals in the area. His black kimono swept under and behind him as he moved. There were slight shuffles with every movement, but other than that he was completely silent. His ears were clearly visible, but his tails were somewhat tucked under his kimono. Most of the fur that could be seen on his tails were black, but the tips had a white wisps to them. The hair on his head, and ears was black as well. The only other color to him for real was the deep crimson lining that flowed over his garb, as well as the red in his eyes. In his mind he had a certain trail of thought as to where he was going. To most it wouldn’t make any sense, but he knew.

“I’ll see if she is there. If not then i will look elsewhere.”

His thoughts flowed from his thin lips, but they were little more than a whisper. Not so for people around him to remain oblivious to his words, but simply for this is how he spoke most times. His voice was a calming one, despite his very short fuse that hid itself behind his pillowed words. In mere moments he could go from being soft, calm, and respectful to the most fouled mouth, violent, and rude person one might come across. It was a strange combination indeed.

Akio had been staying within the nautical district for a few days now, only recently having come to the city from his journey that held so many dark secrets, and memories. What had brought him out now was of a rumor of a furry convention, but when he arrived it turned out that the people that he had gotten the information from was unreliable when it came to accuracy. Despite this Akio had found a favorite place to stay while here. This was where he was headed now.

The kitsune had been walking for a good thirty minutes before he arrived at a small patch of tall bushes. Near the base was a small gap between the adjacent roots. It was just big enough for a small child, but there was noway he could have fit through there. This thought made a small, almost invisible smirk to slid over his lips. Once the streets had cleared of people Akio check his surroundings. There was no one around, or near as far as he could tell. With a gleam in his eyes his body was wrapped in a small bout of a deep sapphire colored flame. It completely enveloped him, but was gone as quick as it had come.

The fires had seemed to take the male with them, leaving a small, black, six-tailed fox in his wake. Its eyes were burning red, his ears were perked up, and his tails were whipping about him. Under its eyes, and scoring its back were odd archaic symbols that showed themselves in a deep crimson along the foxes fur. This was Akio’s favorite form to take. It let him move around with ease, and find nice high places to sleep when he felt the need. For now though he was using it to tuck himself between the bushes. When he came out upon the other side there was a small tunnel of stone. It seemed to lead through a building, and had been meant to be found by children. Sort of a secret hide away. Akio quickly followed the path, his lithe body flowing around the turns, and turning with the passage like poetry.

Within minutes Akio found himself in a small clearing with small trees lining the edge of the clearing. They were each bending inwards, casting a cover over the small hollow. A small child may have been able to squat while in here, but if he returned to a humanoid form he would ruin the place. In the dead center of the hollow was a small stone that held a mirror on it. The light that was able to get through the branches and the leaves was reflected off the mirror, and cast all around to lighten the hiding area up for a certain number of hours a day. Akio looked up with his keen fox eyes, and saw people passing by what would seem like a bush to them. They were ignorant, stubborn, an had no idea the wonders one might find in the small joys in their lives.

It was then that a screen, sitting above a platform that led to the docks, had changed from its regular setting to a broadcast. The queen apparently had words of wisdom to speak to the lessers, or that was how he saw it at least. That was until he heard her message of the prison, and the prisoners. Most would be gasping, screaming, or passing out from fright, but Akio was smiling. Some may say animals cannot smile, but the small form of a fox he held was clearly beaming with a grin.

“This is perfect. She might be there. My sister. Kasumi.”

His thoughts ran through his head quickly, and then his body followed suit. He left the small hollow from the way he had came, and returned to the streets before anyone could tell what had happened. He then slipped into an ally, and shifted once more, returning to the look he had before. This time there was a large pitch black Nodachi blade hanging from the back of his kimono. The blade was light, and so put little to no weight on his clothes. This was the blade known as Korui Akuma.

Now that he was back in a human form he began making his way towards the docks, ready to find his sister. True he disliked her, but there was some unfinished business they had together. He hoped that she would show up to help these people so he may confront her. It could end up very interesting.

The Docks

– The Ship was docked just outside of the Nautical district ; located at the docks which of course meant that it was awaiting travelers to board. The ship had a embedded insignia of a Trident , the symbol of Atlantis Co. and it meant the company was showcasing their ships to be used for the voyage to Hellgate Prison. They were going to assist the people who were willing and brave , all as a ploy to get approval by the people. The time was coming near, and it was almost time to board the ship to move onwards to the Island . Was everyone ready ? It would seem that it wasn’t so as the ship wasn’t entirely full with people . It would wait awhile longer before it was ready to depart . Shuzen himself stayed near the entrance of the ship welcoming people on , dressed extremely casual as if to assimilate with the other passengers. –

https://i1.wp.com/i61.tinypic.com/ejvbxx.jpg

Shuzen :” Please make yourself comfortable , Enjoy your voyage. Hello ; welcome . There is beer and nourishment’s in the kitchen , feel free to go and take what you’d like . Remember to vote Shuzen as Nautical District’s Regional Mayor. ”

– Shuzen didn’t leave his post , he wanted to see all of the passengers who had came with his own eyes ; but did he have a real reason beyond political gain ? From a certain standpoint it would seem as if he was evaluating the members , seeing if they would survive or not . He kept spotting weak people , minus a man adorned in a white mechanical suit which had seemed to pique his interest so far. –

– Hio snuck on board , knowing there was no other ships going to the Island ; he had no other choice but to get on the way he had and stay out of sight hiding behind several crates . He stayed quiet and awaited for the ship to begin it’s voyage. Hio didn’t seem very happy either , his face displayed a annoyed expression as he could even sense the amount of noise coming from upstairs.-

Kasumi was smiling as she walked down the street, despite her only real reason for being in this place was the broadcast which had explained there was a massive prison riot occurring now; this disturbed her but she didn’t show it, she simply kept her upbeat attitude, practically skipping down the street as she thought with a small hum in her voice.

Kasumi had been in the furry convention, on its last day no less, with Grant at the time when it had come on; she had grown darker as she listened, not only because of the broadcast itself but also because of the fact it brought up bad memories. Probably worried Grant half to death, but of course she had dragged him along with her, only giving him the explanation that she had to go and even if he didn’t go she would alone. She knew what could happen if they got out, they could do things just as bad as if not worse than her own brother had done. She knew that, that’s why she had to go.

After a bit of running, Kasumi had let go of Grant’s hand, and she was hoping that the man was still with her. It’d be reckless to go in alone, but she knew that even then she had a duty to do this. There was a chance her brother was in there and if he was…… she didn’t want to think about that but… she would be the one to put him down if it was the case. She wasn’t worried about the fact he was technically stronger than her because of the difference in tails, that meant nothing to him.

Kasumi finally looked behind her after a couple minutes, smiling brightly behind her as she called out to Grant, but little did she know there was someone so close who could recognize the voice she released. After all… he had once gotten the same voice…

“Grant, you still there or did I leave you way behind!?”

Kingdom of Alteria : Nautical District

“Yeah!” Grant sung out as he finally caught her up, practically out of breath. It was quite some day and with what Kasumi had planned, Grant was not going to miss this for the world. It had been at the final day of the furry convention that they learnt about the prison riot. All eyes glued to a massive wall of television screens that showed what had been happening. News reporters in special bullet proof vests, and with the words ‘PRESS” emblazoned on them spoke with a heightened sense of danger to alert all on Alterus of what was happening. Grant was a little worried about what it meant for them to get involved, but with his new found powers thanks to the Mask, it would be a great way to test it out. Sure, he had scared his apartment manager, Mrs Abecrombe half to death one night, when he came home to get his things, only to decide to put the mask on to play a prank. Needless to say his wild comic actions and the graffiti he wrote on the apartment building walls, had many in the building talking. He had written “Mrs Abecrombe has blue waffles” about two thousand times in various sizes and script type. It was going to take a month of sundays to get that all scrubbed off the walls.

But here on this day Kasumi and Grant had come down to get on the ship that would take them over to the prison. “Can I help it if you are like….super fast in those shoes?” Grant pointed down at the girl’s footwear and then beamed a smile at her. “I did manage to catch you up though. So where is this ship?’ Grant put his hand up like a visor, scouting to see which vessel they were meant to get on.

Dressed in jeans, a polo and carrying his trusty back pack, Grant looked more like a backpacker than a member of a fighting force. His hair was a lot better kept though and thankfully he had showered that morning. Taking out a packet of menthos, he took one out and popped it into his mouth. He then offered the packet to Kasumi with a shake of his wrist.

Hibu:

The room was silent; in fact it was pitch black. Shadows creaked along the walls with mischievous smirks. On the dark oak wood nightstand, a candle ignited displaying the only light source within the room. The room wasn’t abandoned for a feeble structure with kinky snow white hair was chained to the bed. Shackles were placed around her wrist, Scars ran along her skin leaving remembrance of miserable beatings. This would be the first in months she was getting a chance to sleep, but it wasn’t making much of a difference. The nightmares were becoming more violent with every sleep.
The female babbled her eyelashes with her vision weary with only darkness filling her pupils. Ordinarily this would confuse and freak one who happened to wake up in darkened abandoned room, but this was ordinary for her. The tight feeling of shackles being placed around her wrist of both left and right hand didn’t seemed to bother her. A bandage wrapped around her left eye due to punishment that happened in the past. It was frequent to have beating for she was slave, supposedly lower than livestock. This didn’t bother to be called such. Kasumi knew she was too afraid to do anything, she could have escape, but every time the thought came into her mind her body becomes paralyzed. Why? By many people Kasumi was said to have invisible chains set by Shuzen. He had applied so much fear into her, Kasumi was mentally was too afraid to even go against his wishes. When given the chance to escape, Kasumi can’t help, but too stay. Being token away by her parents at such a young age then being stripped in front of a plethora amount of dirty old man, made the female remember that little girl wail out in misery to her parents even though she knew they weren’t going to be saving her. “I wonder when master will be back” her voice was pathetic and soft as she spoken. The female attempted to stand, but the collar around her neck, which was chained to bedpost, which prevented her to stand a full length. Thus, the female sat herself back in her previous position. She was alone with nothing to do, her body was feeble and weary not strong enough to break neither the chains nor the shackles. Is this her life? Being chained to bedpost hardly feed, or even cared for? Her mother once told her that, “Everyone has meaning in this world even its small or big” she believed those words, but soon they faded from her faith. Where the watching? Looking down on their child from the “heavens” or were they looking at their daughter in disgrace. Did they care anymore? Probably not, the high elves were such an intelligent race; to be enslaved was disgraceful. She sighed with depression, moist droplets streamed down her numb red cheeks only to hit the floor. She didn’t want to live this life, but she lacked the courage to do anything about it. Every time her eyelid closed the picture of his unmerciful eyes came into mind, which would prevent her from sleeping for the rest of the night

“Good, and these shoes aren’t the reason I’m so fast buddy boy. Natural physical trait, me and my bro-…… never mind.”

Kasumi cut off in the middle of her sentence, possible for the fiftieth time over the past week of peace since the dungeon. It seemed, more and more lately too because of the fact Grant had been dealing with it all week since she started hanging around him. She never spoke of him without cutting off the sentence just for the very reason it was forbidden, not even counting how much pain it brought back. She hadn’t seen him for years and she knew very well why… she couldn’t forget after what had happened, especially with the damage she’d done herself in a fit of Feral Rage.

Kasumi shook her head and gave a small smile, reminiscing her father for a moment, as those thoughts typically brought on thoughts of him. According to what he’d told her, he had changed a lot in the years before she was born, he’d told her that he’d made mistakes that had torn his own life apart with his brother and father. Life could throw things at you that could bring you to your knees, but one thing he always made sure she remembered was that true strength is shown through the heart, the willingness to continue fighting even though you get hit, to defend those you care for no matter how much it hurts. It’s not about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can GET HIT and KEEP on trying. That’s the lesson he always taught her and she’d taken it to heart the day she unleashed her Flaming Persona.

Kasumi blinked as she heard Grant’s voice again and looked at him with a rose eyebrow, her crimson eyes landing on the Mentos packet that was in his hands; letting out a small chuckle she nodded, reaching out and taking the packet, popping one into her mouth before handing it back to him. It wasn’t like she needed it, she just liked the taste of it, and considering her tongue was more sensitive than his, she enjoyed it a lot however long it lasted. Well… that isn’t entirely accurate, one’s sense of smell is ninety percent of their sense of taste, so really the reason she tasted it more is because her nose was far stronger. Ah oh well. Kasumi spoke quietly as she pushed her power down, making it harder to tell that she was a lot stronger than many of the occupants of the boat now getting on.

“Thanks, come on, let’s get on the boat before it leaves. I have a bad feeling about this and… well, it’s better that people other humans are on board with this, no telling what we’ll encounter. I’m already having to suppress my power by a lot, never telling where an enemy may come from. I want then to underestimate me in the case that I have to fight on board as well as at the prison. Off chance of that happening, but still.”

Kasumi was serious, and finished talking several minutes before she even managed to get to Shuzen, but even so she gave him a cautious gaze, but a smile full of sass while she passed. She wasn’t senseless, she knew the look of someone analyzing others when she saw it… it was a look she’d seen before. She replied to Shuzen with a arrogant grin and cheeky tone in her voice, but one that held an underlying understanding. The only thing she could have done to give away she wasn’t as weak as many of the people getting on the boat.

“Hmm, sure thing~ If you make it worth it, Shuzen-san.~”

Kingdom of Alteria : Nautical District

To share a small mint with friends is like something out of a TV commercial. It always has a way of bringing a smile to a weary face. Grant had a sweet tooth, just one of many things that Kasumi was yet to learn about our latest adventure hero. Though at the moment, he was acting more like a tourist than anything else. Dressed for comfort rather than style – cause really he was never was much of a fan of fashion, Grant looked so easy going. He’d had an interesting time since he had finished his first ever quest, but one thing he did notice in the time that he spent with the talkative kitsune, was that she never finished her sentences. Odd really. Like she was always leaving out the best part of the story for reasons that only made sense to her.

Grant just followed her anyways. He didn’t question her reasoning, nor try to pick apart what she had said – just taking it at face value.

They were now facing the vessel that was to take them across the waters to the Prison. Staring up at it, Grant let out a small whistle, but showed no fear at all. Not even when Kasumi expressed her feelings on it and they weren’t good ones. She complained that she was having to already suppress her powers a great deal at the present times, and with the boat being filled with nearly all humans, it was going to be a feat in itself to continue to keep her defenses up. One point she raised, was that the enemy could be anywhere, even on board the ship and she needed people to think that she was harmless. Underestimating her strength.

Talk about a good plan. By the looks of Grant, the only thing he would be hitting would be the ship’s on board menu.

Following Kasumi up the docked ship’s gang plank, he waved cheerfully at Shuzen.

Watch that late night movie they said…nothing bad will happened they say…idiot, idiots all of them!

The crimson eyed rabbit cursed inside his mind as using his C-Gear he began speeding across the streets of the Nautical District. Today a ship was leaving to a destination that basicly no one with an inch of sanity or common sense would come close to, unless they had some sort of sense of heroism or business there…and of course this bunny just needed to have both! He hated that, that sence that he had to do the right thing…it ruined his business, it ruined his day…and of course he had to be the only living fool to take a job to deliver a package there. Any sane and insane courier for that matter gave this job the finger, low pay, high danger…but no…he had to take it because they gave him puppy eyes and he would be going anyways

Gaia be damned Bolt…go faster!

Right now he was breaking every speeding limit in the whole district if not the whole planet while he was draining his C-Gear dry to just reach the docks that finally were at sight. At first the bunny was relieved, he had crossed half of the city at top speed basically almost crashing into every vehicle moving slower than 300 kilometres per hour, wich was most of them anyways if not all, and finally he was there. He was relieved to say the least…except for a simple trouble…he was heading for a crowd of people at more than 300 kilometres per hour with near to no space to use the breaks…curse this day…

Son of a…out of the way you fleabags!

Red yelled at the top of his lungs towards the people in his way as he basically pressed the breaks with all his might, trying to stop his Bolt and maneuver it so he wouldn’t end up running anyone over. And as expected he ended up with his face on the ground basically scratching all over the ground while the Gear was above him. Red basically cursed, in every language known to man, elf and Rabbit as he digged his fingers into the ground, leaving deep marks on it as finally he somehow ended up stopping before running over Mr. Shunzu. And he remained there for a few moments, as the C-Gear shifted into a board form and Red slowly got up from the ground

Stupid…ground…

Amazingly enough Red was actually intact, not even fur lost as he just survived what would have made him lose a hand and maybe break all his bones. Granted that right now his fur was a mess, everything hurt and he used some of his aura in the inside of his body to make sure everything remained on place…but still, if anyone had doubts about a Rabbit resistance right now they were silenced. Not to say the same about Red, whose blush was not so well hidden as he noticed the embarrassing entrance he made and the few eyes set on him

What?…never saw anyone having an accident?

Hostile as ever the bunny just began dusting himself off as he fixed his crimson colored vest and began to work on his pure white fur that not seemed to stand up in all angles. Hard to imagine that something as soft as him could actually be in such a bad mood and ready enough to punch someone into another galaxy if they brought up this incident on the way to Hellgate. Seriously thought, in what other way could thing be wrost than this? He believed he embarrassed himself in front of a crowd not to mention the fact that maybe he damaged his C-Gear in the process

At least it can’t get worse than this…

– Being around a person like Shuzen was sure to have felt quite different then other people due to the fame he had . It wasn’t like he was the King or Queen but it was similar to meeting someone you’d rarely meet and it was altogether a special experience in it’s own right. His smile was big and his eyes slanted as he made a slightly appeased face to the responses he was given. He spoke to Grant and Kasumi simultaneously as they had approached as expected , he wouldn’t ignore the people entering the boat . Not long after they moved onto the ship a Bunny-humanoid being had appeared before him and the Blue Haired male stared curiously at him as he moved extremely fast. This person was peculiar in varying ways , but it was clear why he was here . He was heading to Hellgate too and Shuzen wouldn’t deny him passage , he was more then welcome to join the current people ready to embark. –

[ 2nd Dungeon] : Abyssmal Core (4) – Shattered Dimensions.

The battle now intensifies with the plucky Kitsune and the crazy comic book nerd going head to head with some of Gizora’s most sinister villains.

Kiri:  Kasumi gave possibly the most vicious growl one could expect from her, a growl which was utterly unnerving. She didn’t sound like she could be considered anything remotely human, in fact you might have thought she was a Demonic Kitsune. She wasn’t playing with the Terakian, in fact the Jaki that began to blaze around her looked like it was as sinister if not more sinister than the aura surrounding the Terrakian. And it didn’t disappear when Kasumi slammed her palm against her face at the challenge that Grant put to the male.

With not a word, Kasumi simply reached out and aimed to grab at Grant’s collar. Should she have, she would have picked the boy up like a wolf would its pup, only to throw, yes throw, him straight clear across the pond. A scream from her to follow.

“You go ahead dumbass! He’s obviously not someone who will dance battle you! Now….. you..! You deal with me!”

The last two halves were aimed at the Terrakian, a demonic look in her eyes as her Jaki swirled around her, a bright orange of varying shades. A color that her uncle’s Jaki had been. Kasumi’s appearance changed slightly as her fangs extended and her claws did as well; the fur on her tail bristling as it lashed back and forth, her legs spreading to shoulder length as her weight shifted to the balls of her feet. Ready to fight, to kill if she had to. Hirai Hime was in her right hand as well, and she wasn’t afraid to use that weapon. Nor any of her abilities as a Kitsune. Fire Fear, but also Creation Fear. The Concept of Fear was born between the relationship of humans and Yokai. It’s what a particular person was feared for. Which is why Kasumi was dangerous for a Creation Fear user, as she also had her Fire Fear to account for. But perhaps that wouldn’t be needed.

” You Bastard ! ”

– Keikai would see that one of the explorers had flown across the pond and beyond the barrier. That had automatically settled in the fact of who could progress. This would also verify the fact that Keikai had failed what he had came for. That moment was followed with a large dark fog slowly covering the area and encasing them both . He was enraged, his sclera turned black and his arms tensed . He was no push over , and he instantly closed the distance between him and Kasumi ; intentionally missing and punching the ground near she had stood ; causing it to quake and split which in turn caused chunks of earth to fly about and hit whatever it had came at . His arm was encased with a dark fog , his eyes glaring at the target whether or not it was hit by the shards . The male wasn’t playing around , nor was he intending on going easy on a woman . –

– There it was . The Center of the Maze. The Finale has arrived. The land in which the Shattered Item was located , the temple towered quite high but the item was seen hovering just at the top . Will Grant run and claim it ? There seemed to be a lurking dangerous energy nearby , but what was it ? –

In her anger at the crazy comic con conventionalist’s bizarre attempts to get the shady character to duel him with a dance off, the kitsune remarkably went and did something that was exactly NOT what Keikai wanted at all. To have the young white and grey haired lad tossed like last week’s garbage across the Abyssmal pond. Grant cartwheeled in the air like a circus performer, his shady glasses slipping from his face and landing with a kersplosh in the waters of the pond. It was only when he flew right over the water, that he came to land with a few bum smacking skids on the other side. He reached the centre of the Maze.

“Ow Ow Ow Ow.” He cried for each time his bum smacked the earth. Dazed and shocked at the strength of the Kitsune, he got up to stand wobbly, and then realized exactly where he was.

“I’m here….I’M HERE!”

He looked back across the pond, but he saw that the pair were now engulfed in some dark mist making it hard for the young man to see. He brought up his hand as a visor and peered across the other side of the pond. “Kasumi!!! Just stay alive till I get back!!!” he yelled loudly, before gathering himself and turning to face the end of the maze. The quest had brought him this far, and now he was on the right path. Looking up at the magnificent temple that went up into the very errie green clouds, he wondered just what would be lurking to test him this time. Just at the very top, Grant could make out what looked to be the prize. Glowing as it sat atop the tower. Spitting on both hands, he started his climb up the all too tall stone stairs.

Kasumi growled deeply at the male, the Jaki that swirled around her looking like a fiery wind in itself, burning as it wove around her with a mind of its own. Jaki were the demonic auras of Yokai, which could cause corruption in humans if it was strong enough to overpower their will. Kasumi knew that, but the Jaki was the signal she wasn’t holding back. And the further changes that occurred soon after showed she knew she wasn’t going to be able to stay in her one-tail form. Instead, her tail itself began to split, forming into five different auburn tails without the splash of white at the end, now waving behind her as she growled at the man in front of her with anger in her blazing crimson eyes.

Grant’s words made her scoff, muttering to herself a simple ‘yeah right’ comment, even going as far as to say that if she died here it’d contradict what her purpose was. Of course, Kasumi was interrupted mid-thought by the man covering the distance between them and slamming his hand into the ground, causing it to erupt in all directions. Kasumi let out a grunt as she pushed off the ground, leaping from one side to the next as she dodged each piece as fast as she could, using her tails, coated in her Yoki of course, to slash apart some that were clumped together and far harder to dodge.

Jamming Hirai Hime, now shrunken back into its Tanto state, back into its sheath, she moved in a blur, difficult to follow till she finally stopped, only to blast forwards at high speed, her form completely blurring to a point that she was nearly invisible at that speed; her right arm was lifted as her claws lashed out, slicing the air just over the male’s head as her left arm came swinging up in a quick uppercut, having used the attack from her claws to try and get him to duck into the strike and send him into the air with a single attack. If it had worked, the male would have been left stunned while flying through the air, while Kasumi would’ve dashed into the air at top speed like her charge and flipped forwards, slamming her foot down onto his stomach to smash him into the ground with enough force to cause the ground to erupt and quake much like he had done only moments before with his punch.

Keikai vs Kasumi

https://i1.wp.com/i59.tinypic.com/wwmb20.jpg

– Keikai quickly blinked closer to Kasumi as she attempted to feint him with her first attack , the Terakian punched the wrist of the Female with his fogged covered right hand ; causing it to point upwards and slightly sever the connection of the palm to the arm through the force which then was followed with his left fist towards the stomach . That hand didn’t hold any of the fog but did release a giant force if it connected which most likely would have had to due to the fact he intercepted the female’s motion while it was acting out therefore making any other reaction harder to accomplish since it would have to take a longer moment plus their distance between one another was too short. The attack that was supposed to hit his chin couldn’t connect due to his actions and therefore the fist that did connect when it had would cover that arm and make it unusable , what did the fog do to her hand ? –

– As Grant continued to climb and grow closer ; the skies seemed to have grown darker with each second that had passed . Was this an effect of him moving ever closer ? A strange feeling would continue to grow and grow as he motioned ever closer but after he was but a few more meters away a large blast of energy would strike and hit the area not too far above from Grant which had caused it to erupt and crack and possibly make the person tumble back down. Another person appeared in the vicinity , however this person sat directly at the top of the ruins with a small coffee cup in his hand and a orb in the other. –

I wonder if you recognize me without the hood . Once more your plans have been for naught, I will be taking the item . I ; Celtan , the Brain of Gizora will be taking this . ”

– What he said must’ve clearly meant that the voices Grant heard was the supposed treasure of this place . Did that also mean specifically only he could’ve acquired this item and no one else ? That may have been the case . This male didn’t seem friendly , and his body was cloaked in a dangerous aura , how would Grant prevail ? Then again with the power of the Item many things are possible , and somehow Grant has had an extremely lucky streak as of late and it seemed as if the Dark Illusionary Beast from earlier may have hinted that those swords of his may have been the key to prevailing . Seeing as to how swords are usually meant for battling , maybe this was its chosen time. But more importantly , it was Grant’s time to shine.-

Objective : Do whatever it is in your power to get past Celtan through whatever means necessary and obtain the Shattered Item !

Abyssmal Center Temple

Higher and higher he climbed with the air thinning of oxygen but being replaced by something else entirely. A darkness – like the very clouds were charged with some deadly force. This was no mere catch and grab like in an Indiana Jones movie. The prize awaited him at the top, but nothing was meant to be this easy. Up till now, Grant had a run of luck that was simply too good to be true. His choices, though sometimes not entirely wise had gotten him this far. He did have the help of the kitsune, who was now battling it out with that nasty chap across the pond, but Grant was about to find himself facing the one that was there at the start of the journey. Minus the cape this time, minus the hood. He was sitting – waiting with a cup of coffee in one hand and an orb in the other. How long had he been here, and how was he able to reach the height of the tower, considering that he couldn’t possibly be human. He called Grant a brave adventurer. Brave? Not totally, more like he had a lot of luck. Making it to the top on the words of the riddler, the words that guided him through. Those words were said to be sung by the very item itself. Calling directly to the one that was destined to claim it. Grant.

“I wonder if you recognize me without the hood.”

“Yes…you were the guy at the beginning.” Grant was not totally stupid.

“Once more your plans have been for naught, I will be taking the item.” He what? After all this, he wanted it? Some bloke called Celtan who was the brain of Gizora. So, was this a demon? A warlock? He didn’t look like anything fancy, just a bloke having coffee on the temple mount. Grant’s chest puffed out as he reached behind him and withdrew his swords, the same ones that had been given to him by the Queen, the same ones he was willing to throw away when in the mouth of the beast. It was his moment. Human, maybe – but the true fighter beneath was about to have his moment.

https://p.gr-assets.com/540x540/fit/hostedimages/1380222758/658446.gif

Swinging both blades like rotors he then twisted his body so that his right arm slashing across the front of his body with the blade whistling through the air, the blade in his left arm was brought back and up. A flick of wrist and his body reversed the slash back in the opposite direction, followed by a downward slash from his left. One to strike the coffee cup right out of his hand, if the right hand slice hit the orb.

Kiri:

Kasumi snarled at the male who blocked her feint, which was annoying at this point now, she could feel that her entire arm was dead on the moment he hit her. Shit. Not good, plus she was off-balance because of him blocking her like that, making it harder to defend against his current attack. At least, that’s how it normally would be. Her eyes were hidden for a moment just before a grin spread over her face in an instant, only moments before several swords, all interlocked with each other, erupted from the ground and slammed between her and the male’s fist just in time. Sure, the attack ripped the weapons apart and sent her sliding back from the force of it, but it still saved her…. barely.

“Close one that… heh. I can’t hold back for this, therefore… Daisuke Family Art: Flaming Persona!”

https://i1.wp.com/img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110802131802/bleach/en/images/a/a6/Ep333YamaotoExplosion.png

Kasumi’s entire body was immediately engulfed by a massive eruption of flames that swirled around her, creating a powerful shockwave as it blazed brighter and hotter than almost anything most people would have felt. That inferno itself quickly dissipated, but left standing was Kasumi with three flames blazing circles around in the form of Kamaitachi. This was her Flaming Persona, which also meant she was a hell of a lot faster. Kasumi’s left hand clapped itself onto her right, bracing herself as she blasted her White Lightning right into her nervous system, causing her cells to go berserk as they began trying to fix her arm. She gave a wince as she released her right arm, but lashed her left arm at the male, sending a flame condensed into a high-energy and density form, causing it to blast after him in a crescent shape.

“Razorflame!”

Much similar to how a technique called Razor Wind worked, Razorflame was a technique in which Kasumi condensed her flame into a hyper-density and high-energy state, firing it at the target. The flame itself, because of its now hyper-density and high-energy form, would have sliced through the male like a knife through butter the moment it touched him. Easily. That was the damage of this technique.

[ 2nd Dungeon] : Abyssmal Core (3) – Shattered Dimensions.

Part three of the Quest into the Abssymal Core.  It is not just an ordinary journey, as the pair have to fight their own demons….or dance.

Kiri:  Boy oh boy, just when things couldn’t get any worse? They got worse! Of course they did! This is what happens when you let your guard down! At least, that’s what Kasumi was thinking, and with very good reason; however in spite of that Kasumi was determined to be ready to fight now. But going back a bit first. Kasumi had looked around for a few moments before actually responding to Grant, looking at him with an amused gaze for a second as she responded.

“It’s one of the innate racial abilities of Kitsune, Kitsune-bi, Fox-fire. Comes in three varieties, only my family is known dominantly for their prowess with Fire. When using it, well. We’re known for our skill with Flames. Easiest way to explain it. Before all this happened, our flames were why we were feared, and it’s still happening even today. This is what we’re known for, this is what we’ve been Feared over. I have more racial abilities than this, including, but not limited to: Illusionary Manipulation, Dream Manipulation, and some more things.”

Kasumi shrugged as her ears flicked once again, as though confirming what she had said. The abilities of Kitsune could be unpredictable, there was no telling what a Kitsune could have. Therefore, not many people knew what to expect other than Kitsune themselves after all was said and done; which was why Kasumi, and her brother for that matter, were so dangerous. Now. Back to the matter at hand. Kasumi was really agitated as to why Grant had thrown away his swords. Sure he had no experience with them, but appearances, but even so it was better to have them. Kasumi growled as she ignited her entire weapon in flames, the crimson combustion blazing brightly and extremely hot. Oooooooh this place was really getting on her nerves, but it wasn’t like she could just force an attack with Grant sitting there in the damn things hand. What he’d said had caught up in Kasumi’s head, her mind working about a hundred miles an hour it seemed as she tried to figure out that singular line she could hear. Eyes full of lies, and the fact he mentioned….. Tch!

“Grant! There’s a good chance this isn’t real! If the eyes on the wall were full of lies, then this may be an illusion they made! It’s a lie in itself if that’s the case!”

Hopefully one of them was right, she’d be pissed to hell if she ended up strapped here by herself.

” You have satisfied me

Therefore you can consider yourself free ”

– The Beast would say as Grant offered up the blades . Clearly this had meant sacrifice was a part of the gamble here , upon taking the swords the beast grinned before returning them to his side –

” You have shown that you are willing to throw this away and probably even more.
You are released from this realm to truly continue on .

But before you are released remember ; that proceeding onward would mean that you’ll lose humane qualities with the treasure that lies ahead. As long as you keep that in mind , move onward. May the Item give to you what you seek . ”

– And with that the realm dissipated and they were sent back into the realm of the maze , with their back’s up against a wall with a hole in it ; was this the ”beast” they thought they jumped into earlier ? Possibly . Who knew ? The path ahead seemed to lead to a clearing. –

– The land seemed to be shifting every second or so , and the vines moved about and lashed at the very little movements coming from anything and anyone it could reach . The two could see that the vines were whipping flies as they soared through the sky , as miniscule as they were. The other end of the pond revealed bright lights and broken structures, could this have been the end ? It seemed to have been likely . –

” Further and further you delve in

Not to realize that you will sin

To become inhuman and become the unknown

This is where your paths diverge and you must go………. alone ”

– From behind the tree walked out a man dressed quite elegantly , he gave off a mysterious feeling ; almost similar to the seemingly elderly male from earlier . This male looked at the both of them and grinned. –

https://i0.wp.com/i58.tinypic.com/35jywp5.jpg

” I’m so so very sorry . But only one of us is getting past here and that will be me. ”

– There was a second entrance to this pond and it laid just behind that tree , so it was clear at this point only one person can progress forward and the others would have to stick behind otherwise some sort of otherworldly force would cause them to be repelled. –

Razorbackwriter:

Thee Abyss

Terror. Fear of being wrong. Grant took a huge gamble by tossing away the swords which were the only thing he really had to defend himself with. A sheer moment of madness perhaps, or maybe he was more clued in than one would realize. He believed that the eyes of lies were the ones in the maze. The maze lying? The maze not being true? It was a big gamble, but it turned out to be the right one. The clink of his blades hitting the ground was the wager, and it was then that the riddler showed true satisfaction.

‘ You have satisfied me

Therefore you can consider yourself free ”

“Free?….FREE!” What a great rush of sound to come from Grant. He couldn’t believe it. For once in his life he got something right. His head spun to that of Kasumi and he beamed a smile that was enough to light the darkness. “And here I was about to shit my pants.” Too much info, son…..too much info.

Being released by the dark beast, Grant breathed a big sigh of relief. He even got his swords back. Talk about a win for Team GRANT. He was strapping the blades back on, when the riddler, as Grant liked to call him mentioned that to continue on meant that he would lose Humane qualities. Grant thought about this for a moment. To lose part of himself, that was a big ask. But then he remembered that he always thought of himself as being nothing special, but in his heart he wanted to be. This was a chance to be somebody. A chance to become a force like those that were only written about in comic books and anime. Grant was now ready for what lay ahead.

Returning to the earlier part of the maze, the pair found themselves now standing with their backs to a wall in the maze. Was that what the slug creature had been? Grant now thought so.

“How cool was that?” Grant asked of Kasumi with a broad grin. “And you thought this was dangerous.” Ever the joker.

Following the path, they came to a clearing, where the vines from the maze were slapping at flies as they grew upwards. Again a strange part to this challenging maze, but one that filled Grant’s eyes with wonder.

“No need for bug spray, huh?” Thinking that the vines were acting to clear the way of insects. It was then that the riddler started off again. Much to Grant’s surprise.

” Further and further you delve in

Not to realize that you will sin

To become inhuman and become the unknown

This is where your paths diverge and you must go………. alone ”

“Alone? Why alone?” Grant didn’t like the idea of going in alone. He rather liked having Kasumi at his side. But before he could address the riddler or the riddle, another appeared. He was like a younger version of the one that they had meet at the beginning. Turns out, he wanted to go forward….and only him.

” I’m so so very sorry . But only one of us is getting past here and that will be me. ”

“Hey…I battled a beast and the riddler said that one of us go alone.” He pointed to Kasumi and himself. “Besides, you don’t seem to be human, mate.”

~RB~

Kiri: ep, she was definitely done. D-O-N-E! DONE! Definitely, utterly, simply and completely done! She was right about the beast being an illusion, that wasn’t the problem here. But the very fact that she was also wrong about that was making her head reel like a speed bag that just got hit. Damn this place, damn this dungeon, damn these trials. Damn it all!! Kasumi shook her head hard and fast, trying to clear her head as they walked. Sheesh, this place was damn nuts. But it wasn’t like she’d expected it to be normal either. Which is the main reason she’d followed Grant in here, to help if he needed it.

And it seemed that time was coming. Kasumi had a bad feeling about what Grant had said, about someone going alone. Sure, she wanted to ask what he was talking about exactly, but she couldn’t now. It was more important to deal with the guy right in front of them, who definitely was a bigger problem regardless. Anyone who was in this place wasn’t normal, in one way or the other. An undeniable fact of the nature of things right now.

” No no………….. I’m saying I will be the one who will get the item and making sure I’ll be the first to retrieve it for my lord.”

– This Male seemed quite pissed that they seemed quite absent minded to what he had said but even then he musta assumed that they were thinking that it was their right to continue onwards without a struggle. This male held a extremely dark energy around himself and he would finally respond to the male’s mentioning of him not being human in which he had said –

” You are correct I am no mere ”’ human”’ , I am a Terakian named Keikai who follows Celtan , The Brain of The Destroyer faithfully to the death . I’ve known that male right there is the key to opening this specific dungeon and therefore we had waited and snuck in not long after you. So now prepare yourself ! ”

– It was clear at this point that the riddle from earlier meant only one was meant to pass onwards. Who knew how strong this male was . But it may be dangerous for anyone who wasn’t trained at the most utmost of skill . This meant he was truly a extremely hazardous person to a normal human. Only something of a supernatural caliber could keep him at bay at best , more or less stall if you will. So what was their choice ? Attempt to stick together and risk death or follow the path of the riddle. –

It was only now…only right this second that Grant finally realized what the strange looking dude meant. He was the one that wanted the treasure, the treasure that had called out to Grant. He was not part of the maze, or the quest – he was merely using Grant and now he wanted to be the one that went forward…alone. Talk about a line jumper.

“HEY…NO ONE LIKES A GUY THAT PUSHES IN!” He held up his arm, his finger pointing at the man accusingly. “RULES ARE RULES, WHETHER YOU’RE AT MACCAS, OR THE PICTURES! YOU DON’T CUE JUMP, BUDDY!” Wow, looked like the guy hit one of Grant’s pet hates. Grant was showing his dark side…yes. Kinda nerdy, but dark just the same. As he said all this with his voice projected loudly, he shot a look at Kasumi and said.

“This guy is a cheater….honest.” Yeah, he was, but he was also a dangerous one. He admitted right there that he wasn’t human at all, but a Terakian. “A what?” Grant tilted his head, not knowing anything about Terakus, or this Brain of the Destroyer. Sounded like something you keep in a jar. “I don’t care if you are Goku, we were here first.” There he went again, determined to be the one that went in before this creep. As the guy named Keikai continued, it was clear that he had been waiting for the key, aka Grant to open the dungeon all for them. It was like some prophecy….or something like out of a game. If Grant had any hope of winning, he was going to have to use his smarts.

If this man was the bad ass he claimed, then…Grant was going to have to defeat him at something that wasn’t magical.

“I challenge you…” Grant said…his face getting really serious as the cogs in his mind went into overdrive….“…to a dance off!”

Yes….a mother fucking dance off.

He pulled out his phone and started scrolling for the right song, before his eyes narrowed and he found the perfect song.

Grant took off his back pack…and his swords, as he prepared himself…with all the energy of a K pop back up singer. he put on a pair of dark sunglasses and went into his dance pose as the music rolled.

“Let’s do it!”

[ 2nd Dungeon] : Abyssmal Core (2) – Shattered Dimensions.

The quest now in the Abyssmal Core was becoming more dangerous by the minute.  Was Grant and Kasumi ready to face the worst that the Servants of Gizora could throw at them?

Kiri:  Kasumi was really beginning to get tired of this damned place already. First they got sucked in against their, her, will; then they end up going into a maze due to no other choice being possible; and THEN they had to jump into the mouth of some damnable beastie. And to top it off so far? THEY WERE STUCK IN SOME PITCH BLACK PLACE! Kasumi released Grant’s hand without a word, actually fairly agitated at this point, but she withheld her words for when they had gotten out of the dungeon. Oh she’d let him have it then, when they weren’t at any really harmful and dangerous risk. Kasumi could hear Grant messing with something, but what was lost to her at this point as she continued to stand completely still and not move at all as she debated on what to do; or so she would have done if the light hadn’t come on, regardless of the fact that not very much came out of it.

Kasumi looked at the dinky light with a look of amusement for a few moments, kind of trying not to laugh at him as she reached over and plucked the thing from his hands, turning it right back off so he could save his own battery. Surely he’d protest, but she’d simply cut him off by placing a finger to his lips only a moment before the two of them, and more of the surrounding area would have become far brighter as she ignited her Fox-Fire, letting it burn a bright crimson around her right hand. With a small smile, she would’ve dropped his keys into his hand before taking a look around; speaking a bit quietly, her voice a bit more relaxed now.

“Well, this is definitely a pickle. What an annoyance. Save that flashlight for later, you’ll need it more than likely. I can use my flames in order to handle this easily enough.”

Of course she could. but what was it that they saw…?

Abyssmal Core Theme

– The Light shone out and just barely ; just barely the darkness revealed a enigma. This being was unnatural and clearly belonged to this realm , with it’s appearance it clearly wasn’t a passive being nor did it display any sort of peace offering or gestures. The being roared with great intensity and revealed a certain aura around itself. The being was half formed , but this was clearly not a gesture of weakness ; it was quite possible the beast was everything that was dark . It oozed red liquid from it’s lips and onto the ground which stained it quite nicely , however as it drooled lightly it would stare at the source of light and allow it’s second roar to dim the light slowly just like a candle losing it’s brilliance. The beast would then reach to grab Grant with it’s hand , doing so with a quick motion and very little warning . Did it seek to harm him or entrap him in this realm forever ? What could have been the reason behind it ? It couldn’t be certain but for the most part it did not seem quite certain. –

” Eyes.
Eyes full of lies.
Lies that hold little truth but reveal a false nature
What is it that you will wager ? ”

– Something once more rang within the male’s brain . What could it have meant ? There can be many different interpretations , but clearly the person would have to throw something away to hold this power. But this beast had seemed quite furious , as if ready to eat them. It seemed like it was the choice the beast has chosen and would not be satisfied until it has done what it has –

Here was Grant, thinking he had it all going on great. Sure, it was a dinky flashlight, but it was better than nothing. Kasumi on the other hand thought it was a joke. She snatched it out of his hand, since the kitsune had a far better idea on how to illuminate where they had landed. Grant wanted to say a few choice words, but the kitsune placed a finger to his lips, muting him in an instant. The young man stared at her unblinking, since he knew she was not one to be trifled with. Then she did the most amazing thing. Creating a fox fire with her right hand. Wow, talk about amazing. Grant was really impressed by that.

“How’d you do that?” Genuinely intrigued. This girl was just one surprise after another. One thing was for sure, it was a hell of a lot brighter than his key chain flash light. Kasumi dropped the keys back in his hand, and he quickly placed them back into his backpack pocket with a little shrug of his shoulders. You could tell that the guy hadn’t ever done anything quite like this before.

“Well, this is definitely a pickle. What an annoyance. Save that flashlight for later, you’ll need it more than likely. I can use my flames in order to handle this easily enough.”

Pickle was the right word. Grant nodded at the instruction to save the flashlight for later, since they just didn’t know what was around the corner.

“You are so cool. Hey, next time we go on a quest, I’m packing marsh mellows.” Ever the optimist that they would survive this one. After all, they were in a darkened place, in the mouth of a big super slug. Grant was just about to point out where to go next, when…..

~RRRROOOOOAAAARRRR~

“What was that?”

Sure enough, the nightmare had only just begun. Turning towards the sound, the pair would encounter a demonic like being that was only half formed. It oozed red icky liquid from its mouth and it was staining the ground where it’s feet should be.

https://i2.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcd9cmRLo71r5twrj.png

“Mommy….” Who else would you call for when you are so scared you are about to shit your pants. “I should have worn the brown slacks.” Grant cried, his voice getting into a higher pitch as a second roar was heard, blasting back the hair on Grant’s head, and weakening the glow of the fox fire.

“Oh shit…..” Grant stared at Kasumi’s hand and then urged her. “Make it glow…make it….ARRRGGGGGHHH!” The beast seized Grant in its right hand and with a quick motion, drew it closer to that horrible bleeding mouth. “It wants to eat meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

Flailing and kicking about, Grant struggled against the beasts hold, till he again heard that same voice. The voice of the riddler.

” Eyes.
Eyes full of lies.
Lies that hold little truth but reveal a false nature
What is it that you will wager ? ”

Grant was starting to hate these riddles. Grant repeated the words out loud so that Kasumi could hear.

“Eyes full of lies? Eyes full of lies?” Grant racked his brain as he tried to understand. “There were eyes in the…maze…looking. Eyes…wait…the maze is lying? How can a maze lie? Panicking now, he squealed again, and chewed on his bottom lip as he came so awfully close to the beast again.

“Wait…”

Grant struggled, and then in a flurry of movement, he tore off the swords on his back and threw them down upon the red stained floor.

“My swords….” Without them he couldn’t fight, and he was no threat. Was the beast really a threat to him? Kasumi might have well thought he lost the plot.

– The path continued on in a boring silence for quite awhile , nothing seemed to have happened or at least it didn’t seem to . It didn’t seem to change from being a straight path for the time it had went on , until birds actually appeared in the flesh fleeing from the depths of the path ; something similar to a warning if they took into account of the senses of birds and their patterns . They were attempting to get away from something , something that laid within . Eyes began to appear on the walls following the birds , but their expansions stopped as soon as they noticed Grant and Kasumi , blinking rapidly . What were they doing ? What were their purpose ? A voice echoed through their head –

” Deeper deeper you traverse

Attempting to seek the power to save this universe

If you are to claim the power to deceive

Then you must leap into the mouth of the beast ”

Abyssmal Forest

– The eyes released a dark shroud of gases that somehow transported the two into a new area . The land was covered with trees , and it seemed somehow they were lost even moreso then before without any sense of direction . A large slithering sound was heard , what followed was something unnatural and disgusting.-

https://i1.wp.com/i60.tinypic.com/2iozv4.jpg

– The beast emerged , it’s mouth gaping wide as if ready to consume them both ; however upon closer inspection the inside of the beast’s mouth revealed a swirling portal ; what did that mean ? Does it lead elsewhere other then their imminent death and consumption ? Only the two would be able to decide what this had meant . This was their journey. –

” My eyes are blind to the deceit

But soon enough our paths will meet

You may have progressed ahead

But we will meet once more. . . ”

– The person removed his hood ; revealing a head of black hair and a male physique with a empty expression on his face but definitely a sinister aura around him. A group of birds began to continuously flock around him –

Abyssmal Garden Path

Grant had a good feeling. Call it fate…call it luck…call it karma. He could just feel that this was the right path to take. Only thing was it was the really boring one. Silence blanketed the path like a thick fog, it was almost deafening. Like nothing lived in this part of the maze. Luckily for Grant, he had Kasumi by his side, though she was not enjoying this at all.

What’s your plan then? Since you rushed in here like a madman.”

“Who said anything about me having a plan?” Grant cocked a brow as he walked along, the sound of dead leaves crushing under foot. “I rushed in cause I was excited. Not every day you get to live out an adventure, now is it?” Either he was a fool for being so chuff about this, or he had no sense whatsoever. To Grant, this was like the Mother of all questing games, and it was real. Real as they came. The fact he had a Kitsune along with him, only added to the fun. Not that Kasumi saw it as that. No, she could pick up on the dangers – even if he couldn’t.

“Besides. the Queen gave me real sword swords!” Yes, she did. Funny that. His synthetic ones would have been no match for whatever dangers were ahead. Grant wiggled his back to show off the fabulous sheathed weapons. So he wasn’t totally unarmed, but could he use them. One would suspect that the only time he had swords that he fought with was when he used a game stick, not the real thing. Grant went to give the Kitsune’s head a pat, when suddenly a whole lot of birds flew out from the maze, while goggly eyes were looking out at the pair from the maze walls. The eyes blinked and stared at Grant as he passed. It was kind of odd to see so many eyes. Eyes without a face. Grant even stopped and stared at the eyes, before darting his head back and forth, up and down to see if the eyes did indeed follow his movements.

“Scared birds…and a wall of eyes?” Something scared the birds…what could it be?

“Something….” His words trailed off as he heard a voice that spoke another riddle.

” Deeper deeper you traverse

Attempting to seek the power to save this universe

If you are to claim the power to deceive

Then you must leap into the mouth of the beast ”

“Hear that? We have to enter a mouth. I wonder if that means the mouth of a cave?’ At least Grant was trying to use that pink mushy thing between his ears. “Come on…” Grant urged, as he led his furry friend further into the maze. Then right on cue…a huge slug like ooga booga beast emerged with a gaping maw that was so large that they would be able to step into it.

https://i0.wp.com/media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mf5o7d4Apn1qzz9rr.png

“That’s one ugly ugly beast! We really have to go into it’s mouth?” Grant was already questioning the whole deal. The riddle said that to claim the power to deceive they had to leap into the mouth. The young man chewed his lip, then looked back at Kasumi. “There is something swirly in that mouth, and not the usual set of pink tonsils. Should we jump in?”He didn’t want to force the Kitsune further, but he really wanted to know if she thought it was the right thing to do.

“I never planned on this.” His voice carrying back to the entrance no doubt.

Kiri:

Kasumi had to say, Grant definitely wasn’t good at reading a situation; the Mist and eerie silence surrounding the duo should have clued him in. Instead he simply stayed excited like nothing could go wrong. And of course that bugged her a lot. The very fact he was happy over the swords as well made her get an even worse feeling about all of this; the feeling she’d have to save his ass. A lot. He didn’t have a plan. Of course he didn’t have a plan, why did she even think he would? This guy was on an adrenaline high, and it would probably get worse. Kasumi did have to admit one thing though, he had guts. Which of course, ended up bringing them to the next issue.

Kasumi was silent, but she snarled and gave a definitely inhuman growl at the beast the moment she saw it. Her grip on Hirai Hime tightened the moment she saw it, and her fur began to bristle within seconds. She didn’t drop this appearance either, till Grant decided to bring up the fact of the riddle; this caused her to drop it, but even so she held the katana tight and kept her stance ready for a fight if needed. Kasumi ran her head through the lines, analyzing and comparing everything as she weighed every possibility before growling to herself and answering; while she did, she extended her hand to Grant.

“Take my hand, and do NOT let go no matter what. Dammit this is insane, but it’s the only way we’ll escape this alive if that’s what I think it is inside of its mouth. So… HOLD ON!”

Once Grant had taken her hand, Kasumi would have taken off at full sprint, giving Grant a feeling of moving fast enough that once they stopped stopped he’d be utterly dizzy. But even so, Kasumi would have dragged the man along until she jumped up, landing square through the mouth of the beast, while preparing to incinerate the beast from the inside out at the first sign of being wrong.

Fu:  Thee Abyss

– Once they had leaped into the mouth it was clear that it was a mouth used for something other then eating , this pathway lead them elsewhere ; someplace completely different. They entered a complete and absolute darkness ; filled with nothing but black , how could one see ? It was similar to just having your eyes entirely shut and attempting to sleep. Moving without any source of direction and with this penalty to the senses how would one move on ? How could they see anything ? If only one of them had a source of light to see . To see where they were and how to progress , would they be able to retrieve what was held in the epicenter of this entire dungeon. Was there something or someone in this darkness ? –

” If you wish to succeed

Cast a Bright Light to see ”

– These two phrases would soon echo into Grant’s mind ; allowing him to hear this personally and it was up to him to decide how he would approach this situation. What would await them once the light was cast ? –

Wow that little Kitsune sure was a fiery gal. She was ever ready with the katana drawn in case of something attacking them. Her senses must be spot on and with what they were now facing, Kasumi was on the money. This big super slug from the pits of hell was simply the most gross looking beast imaginable. There was however the spinning vortex that was in its gaping maw that gave the impression that this was more than just a super slug. If you follow the riddle as it was said, then the only way forward was to enter the creature’s mouth. It would be a giant leap of faith in a place that was so sinister, you had to wonder if it was truly the right thing to do. Being a gentleman, and also wanting Kasumi’s opinion, he had put it to her that maybe it was the way to go. Course, she really didn’t want to, but she wasn’t stupid either.

“Take my hand, and do NOT let go no matter what. Dammit this is insane, but it’s the only way we’ll escape this alive if that’s what I think it is inside of its mouth. So… HOLD ON!”

This was so exciting. They were actually going to jump inside the big worm’s mouth. Taking hold of Kasumi’s hand, Grant wrapped his fingers around the Kitsunes and then yelled out.

“JEROMINOOOOOOOOOO!” Leaping with all he had and going deep into the mouth of the beast.

Once inside….it was lights out.

https://bottledtime.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/eyes-in-the-dark.gif

Total darkness. A world of nothing, and no way to see the direction forward or back. Grant still had a hold of Kasumi’s hand, but he couldn’t see her…at all.

“Well this was unexpected.” He thought there would be some illumination. But no, just the inky blackness. Grant thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers.

~Click!~

“I have a little key chain night light, for when I can’t find the lock in my front door. Just a sec, it’s in my back pack.”Reaching around, Grant unzipped the section where his wallet and keys were. He fiddled about in the dark till his fingers touched onto the key chain, which happened to be a rabbit’s foot, along with a lot of keys and the little flash light. It was so dinky, you couldn’t imagine it lighting up much, but bringing it out, Grant flicked it on.

……and then…there was light.

Can you believe that Grant ran…yes ran from the restaurant where he was about to have dinner with Kasumi, when he heard the voice that called out only to him.

? ? ? ” Come………. Come find me……….. It is your destiny to make me yours. ”

Grant had no idea what it was that had sung out to him, but it was his destiny, and although Grant didn’t normally pay attention to the voices in his head, this one was so alluring, that he simply could not resist the temptation. He had a vision, a vision of a grand door that was built into a rock wall many thousands of feet high. Carrying only his backpack and the two swords that had been gifted to him by the Queen, he was not exactly prepared for a quest, but that was exactly what he was getting himself into. As he ran along, arms flailing and babbling about how he was coming, Kasumi might have thought that Grant had lost his marbles. Well, that was how it looked. Surely she could not hear the voice, but she would have heard and felt the earth tremor as the second dungeon appeared.

The young comic con conventioneer ran on…and on till he had left the city limits and was now running through a field, that was between the palace and the last lights of the city. If he had bothered to take notice, a dark mist was rolling across the grasses, which gave this trek a much more sinister feel to it. How on earth Grant had so much energy to keep mindlessly running towards his goal would be beyond understanding, however, what called him had made a connection that defied logic. This wasn’t about fate. This was about destiny.

Soon the large imposing rock wall monolith was before him. It overshadowed everything, with two tall pylons that went up into the sky, featuring large gruesome statues at the top. Peering down at the man and Kitsune. There was a stairway that led to two ancient rock doors. Carved into the very stone face. Only one problem, there were no knockers, no bells…..no sign of how they were to open.

Approaching the doors, Grant finally bent down and placed his hands on his knees and started to catch his breath.

Main Theme: I’ll carry on

Kasumi was not, and to repeat, was NOT in the mood for anyone’s crap. The very fact of her ears still being flat on her head while she ran beside Grant, and the look of uncomfortable fear, gave an almost cuter look to her for once. Something that hadn’t been seen yet. You could tell the earthquake had shaken her up, and she wasn’t happy about that at all. Sure, she felt fine from the light now, that wasn’t the issue at this point. It was the fact she was mortally terrified, but she couldn’t let Grant go on his own. He might need the help of someone used to Illusions and other such things. Who knew what was in there, and whatever was in there wasn’t going to be super friendly. She knew that, but honestly. She didn’t give a flying care in this world. She had to watch out for the kid, especially now that he was going to get himself involved in a hell of a lot of trouble.

Kasumi kept up with Grant easily, but unlike him she was way, way more in tune with such a sinister feeling; the dark mist that surrounded the duo caused her fur to stand on end, making her shiver as she ran, only making her look even more cutesy and nervous. Which . . . hopefully didn’t give Grant any wrong ideas. Even with the physiology of a canine, Kasumi was far faster, stronger and more powerful than any dog. Surely this man could understand that much at least…. could he? How much anime had he seen about Kitsune? Hopefully enough to understand that they were nothing to really play with. Who really knew? She knew enough about the world to know that anime didn’t get everything right, but they got the fact that all Yokai are incredibly strong correct. Insanely strong. Maybe not so to everything, but even so. They were powerful, and they could grow stronger as they aged. Kitsune naturally grew stronger as they grew older and obtained more tails; and considering the fact that their abilities make them completely unpredictable makes it difficult for many people to take them on easily.

Kasumi slowed as they reached the doors, but definitely stuck right beside Grant. Nervous as hell and ready to bolt at any moment. Who could blame her though..?

Fu:  Abyssmal Core Gate –> Abyssmal Garden Maze

– The gate slowly opened , creaking as it progressively continued to reveal what laid within. It sensed Grant, and therefore it was content with the outcome , it creaked as it continued to open . How much further until it was over ? How much longer ? The inside of the door would initially shine a blinding white light but dimmered into a ghastly darkness , beckoning whoever stood at the face of it inside. There was no turning back here , clearly danger of some sort would lay inside. The two more or less would have to put their skills to the test . What skills would be most vital here? The entrance had a extremely strong suction that would pull them in instantly and once inside they would find themselves –

https://i1.wp.com/i60.tinypic.com/flc58n.jpg

– The two found themselves at the entrance of a maze with numerous pathways , and overhead they could see a large white light spiralling somewhere in the middle of the area . The numerous entrances into the maze were quite foggy, all of them were at differing degrees and something felt odd. Something weird. The entrances each gave off a different feeling and it was clear that this was also about luck of the choice , navigation and understanding . These paths were mysterious and lush nature covered some of the pathways and even the thoughts on how to proceed seemed difficult but thankfully a person appeared not too long after. It seemed this person was going to help them to some degree. –

– The Elderly person cackled and turned, walking towards one of the pathways of the maze before the figure itself collapsed upon itself and left only the robe and the orb that it held , upon inspections of the other pathways ; only one path : The left-center path held several bird feathers at the entrance . What was the choice these two will make ? –

Abyssmal Core Gate –> Abyssmal Garden Maze

Like something out of a really cool questing game, or even a wicked old adventure movie, the great wall of rock groaned loudly. Bits of small broken rock tumbled down, as the side of the mountain was preparing to open its belly to the pair that stood before it’s doors. Having been totally consumed by the voice inside his head, it was only now that he realized that Kasumi the Kitsune had been right by his side the whole way from the restaurant. And to top it off she didn’t even look like she had broken a sweat in the run from town. It made him realize that the girl was not about to leave him to a possible dangerous fate behind those doors. For a moment, Grant wondered if he could live with himself if something happened to the Kitsune.

Light. Blinding enough to make the pair almost heed to turn their heads away as it was simply too dazzling for words. This was what welcomed the pair. “Woah.” Grant was one of few words when it came to something as marvelous and fanciful as what they were facing. Grant needed to shield his eyes, till the strong light started to fade. The inner power had now felt that the chosen one was finally here.

But before he could speak again, there was a vacuum like pull that occurred as the doors opened fully. This meant that Grant and Kasumi were both dragged into the massive temple like building. Their feet scraping along the ground as the power within brought them deeper inside. It was only when they were inside that the doors closed in behind them.

Grant spun around sharply. Trying to get his bearings, and also seeing that the doors were indeed shut tight. Trapping the pair inside. The only way to go was forward. What confronted the pair was a massive maze, and in the distance you could see the spiraling affect of a bright light at what might possibly be the center of it all. But which way to go? That answer would come in the shape of a being that approached Grant and Kasumi. Grant kept looking behind the individual, still trying to take in all he could about the maze. Lush and dark, it looked to house exotic creatures, if he didn’t know better. Like on some strange island. Only this was in the side of a mountain.

Seeker of the mask

Come forth and choose a path

If it is treasure that you seek

Look for the trail that the birds flee

Seeker of the mask? Grant wondered for a moment, and then realized that the elderly person was talking to him. Grant touched his chest to show he questioned that it was him, before lowering his arm and then taking heed of the first instruction. Come forth and chose a path

With multiple paths, it was a case of which one to chose, but the riddle continued that if it was treasure that he sought, then he needed to look for the trail that birds flee.

The elderly robed man then walked into one of the other paths and collapsed in on himself, taking the orb with him. Like a guide, but one that only gave away clues, not clear instructions.

“Look for the trail that the birds flee.”

There was one, that had several bird feathers at the entrance. Now, if a bird panics and flees, they often drop tail feathers. it was not uncommon. Bending down, he picked up one of the feathers and then stared down that path.

“I’m going to try this one. Birds were here.” Motioning for the Kitsune to follow. Grant started down the left center path.

Kasumi was completely on edge, as aforementioned; though, as one might expect, she swallowed that fear and stayed next to Grant. Completely, and utterly, ready and willing to pick him up and bolt at the slightest sign of any real danger to his health. Of course, that’s when the doors began to open, and her hand flew back and gripped the handle of the nearest weapon she had without having to create one. Hirai Hime, the very weapon that her father had given her; a weapon that she held entirely dear to her heart as it was the last connection to him that she had. Without much thought behind the action, she drew the weapon, extending it and morphing it into its true state with every moment that she pulled it from its sheath; revealing a three foot long katana with a white blade and a white wire hilt-wrap. Her grip was loose on the weapon, letting its tip point away and out from her body towards the ground; keeping it out of her way whenever the duo got dragged straight into the place.

Kasumi too, just as well as Grant, listened to the woman’s words, only with less excitement and far more caution. Something that should have been obvious to anyone; but then again, Grant wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box when it came to things like this. Kasumi was actually looking back and forth between several of the paths, trying to discern a bit of information from them using her sight, smell and hearing but to no avail until Grant immediately said something about going down a path. While she had noticed the feathers, caution was ruling her actions at the moment, not her predator instincts; she was a sentient being after all, she did have a train of thought other than hunt, kill, repeat. Kasumi ran up to him, walking with him while speaking in an almost impatient tone of voice.

“Mister Taylor, are you nuts? I understand your excitement, but caution and common sense should be pr-“

Kasumi let out a sigh, cutting herself off at the beginning of a word. This wasn’t the time to be lecturing him, no; if they got out of this alive on the other hand…. Well, he was in for a damn good lecture from her. Kasumi looked up at him as they walked, keeping pace with ease while also giving him room to avoid hitting him with Hirai Hime, as much as she would love to give him a few gentle taps on the head with the back of the blade.

“Never mind, enough of my own idiocy. God knows I’m not always the most sensible. What’s your plan then? Since you rushed in here like a madman.”

At that, Kasumi gave a small laugh, her head dropping before she looked back up at the man with a smile.

“Let’s see what you can do, aye?”

The Maze of Greed – Pt 2 – SS.

Scar yells for Mariela to run off into the Maze, as he sets to try and defeat those that seek to harm her.  Namely, Lydia, the Princess of Greed.

Scene setting : The Maze of Greed.

Co-written with Dessy.

Dessy :  Mariela’s green eyes watched from behind the mask as the raven fluttered in front of him, turning back into the man Lydia was seen with at the ball. Her eyes squinted as she tilted her head, looking at the mirror he held in his hand. Soon Lydia’s face showed up, and Mariela widened her eyes before looking over at Scar, who she was now standing behind. Her gaze turned back to the mirror, and back to the Princess of Greed – the one she had trusted with her life, but now felt nothing but anger and betrayal. She saw the flick of his hat and looked down at it, staring at it for a few minutes before turning her gaze back up.

“Since when did you ever care about a woman’s heart? I always thought you were too wrapped up in a set of tits to even bother to care for a woman truly.” Lydia spoke, and this caused Mariela to widen her eyes before she looked down at Scar. The Alp was in love with her. That was it. That was why he asked her to be his date to the ball. That was why he was so eager to get her out of there and protect her when he was supposed to be serving Lydia. It all made sense now – sort of. Everything but the part about Lydia and Mariela’s supposed “greatness” and what Lydia wanted her for. Once again, she looked down at the hat, and one of her gloved hands that was behind her back had reached out to grab it.

But then Scar had run towards the raven man and the mirror.

Mariela quickly reached out and caught the hat in her hands. Afterwards, she kicked off the heels she was wearing that way it would easier to run. She looked up as Scar yelled for her to run, and she opened her mouth to speak, but instead she grabbed the bottom of her dress with her hand that wasn’t holding his hat, and she began running. Eventually she couldn’t hear the fight from behind her, but she continued running through the maze like Scar told her to do.

Razorbackwriter:  Blood dripped from the corner of Scar’s mouth as he had taken a violent punch to the right side of his jaw. The hit was enough to throw him off balance, but if you could see the raven man, he was in really bad shape. A lucky punch was all he had managed to get in so far, and Scar was just getting warmed up. Seeing Lydia make a run for it down into the mysterious maze, the Alp found his courage. Scar spat a blood lugey on the ground at the Raven man’s feet and snarled.

“So, Blackie. Lydia’s got you doing her dirty work now, eh? Feathering her nest too?”Scar circled around the raven man menacingly, who was trying to back away. It was safe to say without Lydia’s presence, he was not the courageous fighter after all. The mirror had been smashed into many pieces and littered the ground at the two men’s feet. The reflection had gone to black, as the other Lydia was in the main glass mirror at the center of the Labyrinth. The Raven man went to swing again, but Scar was faster. He snatched the raven man’s wrist and turned his arm in such a way, that it had the raven man’s knees buckling, and he went crashing to the ground. Scar grinned, his teeth stained with blood as he twisted harder. Bone could be heard to break and the raven man screamed in agony.

“STOP!…STOP!” His cries though went unheard, as Scar roared loudly and snapped the man’s arm. Instantly, the raven man changed back to that of the bird, and tried to flap its wings, but one of them was broken. It flailed about pathetically on the ground and this was when Scar tilted his head with a glorious grin spreading across his face.

“You…WILL NEVER HARM HER!” His boot came crashing down on the raven, breaking it’s neck. Blood spurted out from beneath his heal, as he stomped on the raven three more times – ensuring it was dead.

Scar finally came to his senses, and started to wipe the blooded feathers and guts off his boot. A sigh of relief released from his lips, but then he remembered that Mariela was now lost somewhere in the maze. Scar would find her, so long as she held onto his hat. Glancing back at the palace, which now had all its doors and windows sealed with a black crystal, Scar knew he had more time and took off after Mariela, in the efforts to catch up with her again.

Deeper in the maze, around the next turn from where Mariela was running, as a statue of a woman, with snakes and charms adorned around her near naked body. At the approaching footsteps, the eyes of the statue suddenly opened and the snakes all hissed – raising their heads.

Dessy:  Mariela didn’t know how far she had ran, or where she was. All she knew was that she needed to keep running. Running through a maze wasn’t as easy as one could imagine. Every dead end Mariela would run into, she’d have to run in the other direction. This happened a few more times as the young witch continued to run. She didn’t stop, not even to take a breath or look at where she was going. She didn’t look back or turn around. She kept running.

She could see the castle and she noticed that the doors and windows were sealed. Apparently, the commotion in the ballroom was a lot worse than Mariela had originally thought. But she didn’t have time to stop and think about that – she had to keep running. She wasn’t sure if Scar had stopped fighting, or if he was looking for her or not. She had no clue, and even now as she ran for her life she was still confused on what was going on.

Mariela made a turn, and there she was met with a statue of a woman covered in snakes and charms. When she stepped closer, she saw the statue’s eyes open and this caused her to stop in her tracks and take a few steps back. Then she heard hissing, and the snakes from the statue started raising their heads up. “You’ve got to be kidding me!” Mariela said in frustration with a huff.

Razorbackwriter:  The statue was made from marble. A fine and delicate white that was veined with a darker colour grey. The likeness to a real creature was uncanny, as though it was crafted by the most skilled of sculptures. But as Mariela would discover, there was much more to this statue than met the eye. The loud groan and cracking sound as the statue became animated would give the young witch great cause for concern and fright. There were about eight snakes that had curved their way around the statue’s body, and each was slithering against the cool of their Mistress’s marble skin. But as they moved, they each started to change colour, with vibrant gold rings that looked to be pumping some sort of toxin through their veins. It was a terrifying spectacle, only to be made worse with the shivering sound of their tails. Each set of snake eyes focused upon the young witch, their glowing yellow eyes ever fierce as one by one the heads snapped their jaws at Mariela.

In another part of the maze, Scar was running hard. Going as fast as he could to find his beloved little witch; Mariela. No doubt he had given her a good head start, but he also knew of the dangers that lurked within the hedged walls of the maze of Greed. It was not designed to be a fun obstacle course. Oh no. This was meant to be a one time only trip. Those that entered would be lucky to leave with their lives.

Lydia…..had made sure of that.

“I’m coming, Mariela!” The Alp cried out. His face contorted with the fear that something could happen to her if he was not fast enough. The maze like tracks kept leading him to dead ends, and his frustration was building. If only he had the time to explain the magic of the hat. Scar had never ever given it to anyone before. It was what made him who he was and in inexperienced hands, it could be deadly.

Another dead end.

“Mariela….if you can hear me. Put the hat on!”

Back at the statue, the evil looking snake woman lunged towards Mariela. Her clawed hands snatching at the air, trying to get a hold of her, while her snakes hissed and her charms and necklets clinked.

Dessy:  Mariela observed the statue carefully. It was made from marble, and had to have been sculpted from a very experienced sculpture – it looked too much like a real creature. The statue groaned, and Mariela’s face quickly twisted to one of concern. She took two more steps back. Mariela’s green eyes scanned over each snake, watching them change color, the entire time taking more and more steps back. Mariela turned her head to look behind her, before looking back at the statue. Where was scar? And what the hell kind of a maze was this? This seemed more like a death trap. Then again, Lydia probably planned it that way. All of this was Lydia’s doing. Evil, traitorous bitch.

As Mariela kept stepping farther back from the statue, her mind wandered on what to do. She couldn’t run. Fighting would probably just end badly. Scar sure as hell wasn’t any help. So what was she supposed to do? She then heard someone calling her name. It was faint – but she recognized Scar’s voice. “Scar!” the witch yelled back. She heard him mention the hat and she looked down at it. Of course! The hat! Why the hell didn’t she think of that sooner?

She looked up at the statue, then back at the hat. She quickly ripped the mask off of her face, dropping it on the ground. Then as soon as the statue lunged towards her, Mariela put on the hat and stepped to the right. The statue couldn’t seem to find her again. She was invisible. “Huh… The little Alp’s hat isn’t just a ridiculous accessory, after all.” she spoke aloud. She took this moment to turn around and start running again. If Scar was looking for her, whenever he found her mask on the ground, he should know what direction she ran off to. Hopefully.
