The Corrs – Breathless

Had a bonza Christmas day…and now I am winding down with a cold beer and some music.  So, decided to share a favorite on this most festive day.  The Corrs – Breathless.

“Breathless”

Go on go on
Leave me breathless
Come on [echo…]

Hey… yeah…

The daylight’s fading slowly
The time with you is standing still
I’m waiting for you only
The slightest touch and I feel weak
I cannot lie, from you I cannot hide
And I’m losing the will to try
Can’t hide it (can’t hide it), can’t fight it (can’t fight it)

So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can’t deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling)
Make me long for your kiss
Go on (go on), go on (go on)
Yeah…
Come on
Yeah…

And if there’s no tomorrow
And all we have is here and now
I’m happy just to have you
You’re all the love I need somehow
It’s like a dream
Although I’m not asleep
And I never want to wake up
Don’t lose it (don’t lose it), don’t leave it (don’t leave it)

So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can’t deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling)
Make me long for your kiss
Go on (go on), go on (go on)
Yeah…
Come on [echo…]

[Guitar’s solo] Yeah-ie, yeah, yeah-ie, yeah…

And I can’t lie
From you I cannot hide
And I’ve lost my will to try
Can’t hide it (can’t hide it), can’t fight it, (can’t fight it)

So go on, (go on) go on, (go on), come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can’t deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling) Make me long for your kiss

Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave… me breathless
Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave… me breathless
Go on, (go on) go on, (go on) come on, leave… me breathless
Go on… go on!

It’s official: UN declares Australia 2nd best country in the world.

Australia has ranked 2nd in the UN’s annual Human Development Index (HDI) report.

The HDI is calculated using various factors including life expectancy, education and gross national income.
Australia’s score came in at 0.935, while Norway took out the top spot with 0.945.

We also placed ahead of Switzerland, Denmark and Netherlands.

Australia did well in all three disciplines – with a life expectancy of 82.4 years, an average schooling period of 13 years, and an average annual income of $42,261. Norway had very similar results to us, except their average income was over $20,000 higher than us.

Even still, SLAY ‘STRAYA!

80’s Juke box – (1985) We Close our Eyes : Go West.

A new music trivia post series.  I am going to be posting up songs from the 80’s that may not have made it to number one, but certainly will take you back to the time of big hair, bigger shoulder pads, and of course the best music.

“We Close Our Eyes” is a song by British pop band Go West, composed by both members Peter Cox and Richard Drummie. Recognizable by its synthesizer hook, it was the first single from their début album Go West.

The single was promoted by a music video directed by Godley & Creme. This video included the band members performing the song in front of dancing wooden dolls.

In April 1985, the single was discussed by Molly Meldrum and Queen singer Freddie Mercury on the Australian music show Countdown. Mercury was impressed and predicted the band would be “very, very big”.

“We Close Our Eyes” spent fourteen weeks on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 5 in April 1985. In the United States, the single reached 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

Inside everyone hides one desire
Out side no one would know
Danger close to the edge of the knife
Safer not to let go

And while
We miss chances
You can almost hear
Time slipping away

We close our eyes, we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes to see the final frame
We close our eyes to time slipping away

No show, Wednesday girl waits with the wine
She knows just what to say
While no one listen
You can almost hear time slipping away

We close our eyes we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes to see the final frame
We close our eyes and we can talk to strangers

We are burning with the spark
And we can walk on water
We are tigers in the dark
We are burning, we close our eyes

Heroes never give in to the night
He knows how far he can run
And as he surrenders
You can almost hear time slipping away

We close our eyes, we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes to see the final frame
We close our eyes

We close our eyes, we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes to see the final frame
We close our eyes

We walk on water
We are burning
Talk to strangers

Mad Lib Madness.

Joe Santagato and his friend put a whole new spin on fun with Mad Lib as a party game.  I laughed at this till I cried.  So much so, I had to find the follow up.  You can find the app for this game on iTunes.  What was once a game in English class, can now make your next party a lot of fun.

The object of the game: Fill out a Mad Libs game with your friend, put water in your mouth, and then try not to laugh when it’s read back to you.

Enjoy!
