A Jealous Guy – The Embassy of Hell : PD

You think Nicholas would still be happy when Valmont got out of the tub but, he wasn’t, the feeling had dropped moments later. He could hear it in his voice that he was done with what we were doing for now, Nicholas would watch him walk out only nodding. Sitting there in the water still he stared at the wall and pondered on a couple of things that came to his head. Was it going to be like this, until time for them to be together again? Was this all going to be done in secret behind closed doors, no one knowing? More things had went through his mind as he finally got up from the bathtub. He hoped it wouldn’t but, he wouldn’t push his luck on it. This was still so new to Nicholas and what was it that he was feeling at this moment? Maybe this is what it feels like to be in love and always want that one thing. Standing in front of the mirror he blinked a couple of times and looked himself over. It’s going to be okay, right? He asked himself as a gut feeling in the pit of his belly was telling him otherwise. Taking a towel he would wrap it around his waist and walk out into the room, walking about he picked up his usual clothing and got dress. After a couple of minutes he’d look in the mirror and started braiding his hair, a thought came back to how Valmont said it looked good down. Should he leave it down? No, he wouldn’t do that just yet, continuing he finished the braid and looked once again like he usually does.

After everything was finished Nic would walk out of the room shutting the door, he’d walk down the hall and passed a couple of maids, smiling and waving. He was usually liked upon the staff since he had the feminine charm around him, though he never talked long with them. Stopping by the kitchen doors he’d open them and look about seeing Carlos doing his stuff.

” Carlos, we have yet again another guest probably coming, make sure their is plenty of food.” He said and saw him turn nodding with a smile.

Shutting the door he’d walk down the hall more, something felt like he was being watched but, he’d ignore the feeling for now. Coming back to the main foyer, he’d walk to the desk and went about looking over a couple of things. He was half tempted to go see Valmont but, he wouldn’t, if anything was needed he’d call him. Going around the desk he would take a seat in the wooden chair, picking up papers and scanning over them, writing a couple of things and going about his work. Thoughts occupied his mind and he didn’t need them right now. With a small sigh he’d shake his head and went back to doing what he did.

One of the kitchen staff, a young starry eyed baker by the name of Shia, couldn’t help but notice Nicholas as he came in to tell Carlos that they were expecting another guest and that they would need to make sure there was plenty of food. Having just put her tray of sweet breads in the oven, Shia had time up her sleeve. Over the scent of the many sweet smells and aromas of the kitchen, she couldn’t help but smell that….testosterone coming from Nicholas. What was it about him today, that was so….goddamn sexy? She slapped down her tea towel and then took off her apron, while Carlos went to check on getting enough plates and cutlery ready for another guest. This gave Shia the perfect, golden opportunity. She bit her lip as she snuck out of the kitchen, while Carlos was in the pantry.

Ducking down the hall, she knew where Nicholas’s office was, as she had delivered breakfast trays there before. She kept seeing that gorgeous image of him in her mind. The way his cheeks were showing that hint of pink. Those luscious lips. It had been a few weeks since she enjoyed her lover’s attentions and you could say she was a bit hard up for a bit of quick nookie.

Looking to see if anyone was coming, she smirked as she turned the handle of the office door, and then pulled the door open, only to step inside and see Nicholas at his desk. He looked….so hot right now.

Leaning on the door after she closed it, she started to unbutton her blouse. As far as she knew he had no other lovers. So it was just Nicholas and her….in the lonely office.

“Sir….fancy squeezing my buns.” She was pouting and showing off her huge rack. Her ripe breasts showing off for him to see, if he fancied a bit.

“You’ve been cooped up here too long. Need…a woman’s touch.” She started to stalk him.

The poor guy.

It had been quiet and Nicholas was to caught up in his paperwork and thoughts to realize someone was coming. But, once he heard the door open and a voice, he looked up. To his surprise he didn’t expect to see Shia standing there, with her breasts hanging out. A small blush came to the males face, he had to admit they were big and what she was doing was rather arousing, his male side was kicking in. This girl was wanting some affection, he could tell from the way she was, must of been a while since she had some. Nicholas wasn’t sure how he should react to this situation, he knew that he just went through a lot of other stuff right now, not long ago. It had been rarely at times that someone has come on to him, he’d always reject of course cause of his situation. Sighing he got up and walked over to her, meeting her half way. Stopping in front of her he’d hold his hand up to stop her.

” Shia, I don’t need a woman’s touch, nor am I going to squeeze your buns.” Nicholas said.

In the process he’d put his hands over his chest, waiting for her to back off but, he knew it wouldn’t be that easy.

Shia was finding it hard to believe that Nicholas didn’t need a woman’s touch. He outright rejected the notion of squeezing her buns, even though that was really a play on words. Chewing her lip, the baker found herself transfixed by the way Nicholas was standing. Arms folded over his chest, like he was waiting for something. Maybe he had been denying himself from the sins of the flesh for another reason. But the baker could see a change. There was this new glow to his cheeks, even the way his hair sat. Just oozed sex appeal and she was getting all the wrong signals. Slowly, the baker tore off her shirt and let it fall to the ground, with her breasts now on full display.

“You coop yourself up here. I have watched you. Slaving away for the Ambassador, and doing everything he wants. Tending to his needs. Oh Nic. I can give you what you need. What you crave. I promise not to tell.” She brought a finger up to her lips as if to invoke a vow of silence.

“I have firm hands…a good grip. Wet lips that ache to be used by someone noble like yourself.” Her voice now had a husky edge. She approached him and tried to lace her arms around his neck so that he would feel the press of her great melons upon his clothed chest. “Oh Nic…you smell so good.” her voice becoming husky with lust, while rubbing her bare chest up and down Nic’s chest, whether he liked it or not.

From the back it was a very compromising position to find one’s self in. Just then the door to Nicholas;s office opened, and an angered looking Ambassador was standing in the doorway.

“Step away from him…..now.” the voice was so full of rage, and yet barely able to be controlled. Fearfully, the baker glanced back to see Valmont….and he was a sight that she would never forget.

“Ambassador…”

Oh now she was in for it. The Ambassador stepped into the room and then closed the door behind him. Slowly, Shia released Nicholas, now looking confused. The tension in the air so thick you could carve it.

“He asked me to have sex with him.” The baker started, now blaming Nicholas for the act they were caught in. She tried to cover up her bosom as though embarrassed, but the Ambassador knew better. He himself had the same woman hit on him, and though he found it flattering, he never actually did anything with her.

“He did?” Valmont asked questioningly, shooting a look at Nicholas which read…not to answer that. The girl bent down to scoop up her shirt, as the Ambassador stepped forward and the moment she went to stand, his hand shot around her neck and he held her well off the ground.

Shia struggled in his grip, the shirt now falling to the floor. The woman’s bosom bouncing as he shook her like a rag doll.

“YOU….ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A TAINTED SLUT. NICHOLAS HAS A LOVER.” he then squeezed his fingers so hard they buried into the girl’s neck as he held her at the very edge of her existence. His eyes changed to the sharpest shade of red, his nostrils flaring. He then finished the sentence.

“Me.” The sound of her neck breaking could be heard, the look of absolute shock on her face as her life drained out of her and was absorbed into the Ambassador’s mouth. Her body quaked for a few seconds before turning into a pile of ash on the floor.

Valmont was panting hard as the event reached its dramatic conclusion, before he fixed his gaze upon his lover.

This was a very intense and awkward situation for Nicholas, he had never been full on from a girl before. Seeing her shirt drop he took in view of what was in front of him, she had a nice pair but, Nic wasn’t interested. She knew what he craved? He doubted, one thing he craved was the thing that wasn’t here right now. It had surprised him when she put herself on him, his hands slightly catching around her back, so he didn’t fall. Though what happened next made Nicholas nervous, Valmont had walked in and he had looked at him, his face was not of one he had seen before. The girl backed off and went to retrieve her shirt. Hearing her comment he slightly growled a bit in the back of his throat, he did not. His hand slightly clenched as he looked at her back. You bitch, I can’t believe you dare lie to him. He was about to respond until he heard Valmont and saw him look at him, him keeping silent now. Seeing the girl picked up and shaken he couldn’t help but feel bad for her now, though his words did shock Nicholas beyond belief. Valmont had just publicly displayed that him and Nichols were together but, the girl wasn’t around to tell. She was now laying in a pile of ash, watching the life being drain from her and the cracking, Nicholas had somewhat grown a bit afraid.

Though moments later he had realized this is what Valmont was, he was one for taking the souls of woman but he’d never seen the process in front of him. So once he was now looking at him, he was shocked on what to say. So many things ran through his head could he end up like that? He wasn’t fully a girl but, that didn’t make a difference. If he ever made him mad or upset, or simply crossed the wrong path would he be hurt? Nicholas simply stared at Valmont, no emotions on his face, just a very slightly pale face almost blank looking at him. Finally regaining his composure he started speaking.

” I.. I don’t think you had to kill her.. even if she deserved it. Is that how it’s going to be every time someone tries something on me?Nicholas asked, showing that he was concerned and slightly frightened but, not much.

Breathing slowly and quietly he had been back against the edge of the desk due to the girl jumping on him. His hands stayed by his side as he looked at the pile of ash, it was a truly frightening site but, their had been worse out there. No more words would come from Nicholas lips, as he looked back at Valmont, simply staring.

Valmont quickly realized what he had done as the last of Shia’s ash rained down from his hand. He stood there, now shocked that his inner demon had revealed itself and committed murder right in front of his lover. The jealous streak, matched with the woman’s own lies about his lover wanting her, fused together and made him turn into the darker side of himself. The fear that was etched on Nicholas’s face was rightly justified, and as he stammered and questioned if this was how Valmont was going to be each time another showed interest, than they had very dangerous times ahead.

“But she said you wanted her. She lied. I know she did. You love me.” There was this unashamed innocence in his statement. Like he didn’t truly know how to deal with a rival. This woman, had bared her chest and was trying to get Nicholas to make love to her….then lied. Still, was that a good enough reason to kill her?

Nicholas must have been so frightened now, and who could honestly blame him. Valmont had not yet come out publicly about their relationship, this even being the first and it had set a horrible precedence. The look on Valmont’s face was one of confusion and such sadness. He had overreacted by punishing this woman with a death sentence that was carried out right before his lover’s eyes.

“I don’t know what came over me.” his head shaking as he brought his hand up and raked his finger through his unruly silver locks. He had never felt so strongly about anyone before, especially one that was not truly one sex or the other.

“My jealousy ruled my head.”

Valmont took a step back and his face was now etched in sorrow. Would Nicholas ever forgive him for this? The staff would start asking questions for certain. This may lead to an inquiry or worse. Valmont backed out of the room and closed the door. His footsteps heard getting fainter as he went to find refuge in another part of the Embassy to think about what he had done.

Ruby – Part Six : SS.

roosterteeth animated GIF

We follow Valmont and Ruby as the Ambassador gives the young hooded mute a tour of the Embassy.  All good intentions however bring back memories, that the girl cannot suppress.

Scene setting: The Embassy of Hell – Seven Sins series.

Co-written with Zu.

Zu: This place was amazing; everywhere Ruby went, Valmont had something that would show off just how wealthy he truly was. Just by his house alone, Ruby knew the kind of man Valmont was. Without words to speak, Ruby could see people in a far different light than others who could speak. She was very observant, and even if she was distracted, it didn’t mean she was paying attention. Despite these flaws, Ruby still loved Valmont the way he was. Without his help, she’d still be drifting from one place to another, endlessly finding nothing that would give her comfort.

She heard the servants speaking to Valmont, yet didn’t pay them any mind. She was too busy seeing this… empty room. It was just a room, with nothing in it. Was this the place where dance happens? Ruby wasn’t sure how you could do this… whatever it was, in a place where there was nothing in it. She’d find out soon enough.

Ruby looked up at Valmont, who had taken her hand and waist in his hands. This felt weird, and she even had a small blush to compliment this feeling. Valmont was really close to her; it was no problem to be around him, but being this close, Ruby could now see just how beautiful he really was. Her eyes, which weren’t exposed thanks to the hood, were drifting to the floor so she wouldn’t embarrass herself in front of Valmont. She only followed Valmont’s lead, and this dance was… pretty good. Ruby felt like she was drifting on air, and Valmont was the one to lead her across the sky. She did look up at him after pushing aside her emotions, which was a bit overbearing, and only pulled herself right against Valmont. She could dance like this forever, being in the arms of someone who cared.

The music drifted around the room, enveloping Valmont’s senses as he let himself become one with Ruby in the dance. It was a natural high that to many would be hard to understand. The closeness of contact, and moving to the tune of the music in a dance that was as old as time itself. By the look on Ruby’s face, she too was being caught up in the magic of the dance. She was following on in perfect unison with the Ambassador, as he took her around the floor in sweeping circles that would make anyone feel light headed.

The show of blush on Ruby’s cheeks looked adorable, in Valmont’s mind. It was interesting for him, to find her react so. The Ambassador could not hide his smile which would be infectious. If only Ruby was able to do the same. The crude stitching would limit this ability, but does one really need lips to smile? Eyes can too.

When Ruby looked up into Valmont’s eyes, the Ambassador whispered.

“You are very light on your feet, Lady Ruby”

Of course she was. For such a girl that could wield a great weapon, there was practically nothing of her and she floated along the marble floor surface with ease and grace. Not bad for a first time.

When the song came to its glorious end, the Ambassador simply held Ruby for a moment, staring into her eyes. Was it possible for her to bewitch the incubus. He was having to keep himself well under control, which was a good thing….for both of them.

“That was wonderful.” The Ambassador bowed low from the waist once he let her go and gave her space. “I would like very much to do that again sometime.”

~RB~

Zu:  Ruby just stared at Valmont in the eyes as they graced the floor with their motions. When she realized, in the middle of the dance, that she was just staring straight into his soul, as her eyes were seemingly lifeless, she just brought her head down to make contact with his chest. She wanted to bury herself in it for looking so dumb, but nearing the end of the dance, she had the confidence to look up at him again. By that time, the dance had already ended it’s run and so too did the music. Valmont was so sweet to her, treated her like she was something precious to him and this was a feeling that Ruby had always wanted but now that she did, Ruby didn’t know exactly how to take it. Her chest was beating like mad drums from the thoughts running through her head. It really was a good thing they stopped, she could compose herself.

However, just because the dance ended didn’t mean their closeness did. As their eyes locked onto each other, her blush became far more red and she even got a bit transparent from this encounter. Without thought, she actually wasn’t becoming a ghost at random moments; it really had to do with her emotions. Of course, that wasn’t what Ruby was thinking about. When Valmont bowed to her, and gave her some space to breath, she just held her hands against her chest. Never in her life, during her time in Hell, has she felt such a warm feeling. Could ghosts even feel warmth?

The Embassy of Hell

Valmont couldn’t help but feel the swelling of pride when Ruby placed her head to his chest as they danced. This contact was unique to Valmont. The girl had been careful in showing herself, let alone letting her emotions drive her movement. Was she shy of how she felt at this moment, or was she feeling a real closeness towards the Ambassador? Valmont moved his hand towards the centre of her back and caressed it with a feather like gentle touch. Even though he was an evil creature by nature, he was more than capable of affection, and this was what she deserved. His own head lowered and to look at them from afar, you may be mistaken for thinking that the were more than just friends.

After the bow that he presented to her in gratitude for the dance, it was Ruby who kept her hands upon his chest. It was at this moment, that Valmont happened to notice that she became in part translucent. What was causing this, he wondered to himself. He wouldn’t question her of course. Why ask something that may upset her? That was the last thing he wanted to do. Instead he brought his hands up to be placed over her own. A beautiful smile playing upon his lips.

“You are the most intriguing girl I have ever met, Lady Ruby.”

Normally he would be off again speaking of the next room that they should visit, or acting more like a dignitary, but he wished to be more than that. Valmont wanted to find out more about the girl. How she came to be in Hell for starters, and who would do such a thing as to silence her forever more. Valmont’s heartbeat was now the only sound that could be heard. Powerful and strong beneath his chest. His silver hair rested upon his broad shoulders, and he looked very much how you would expect an incubus to look. His thumbs slowly caressing Ruby’s soft skin.

For once, he was lost for words.

~RB~

Zu:  These emotions that Ruby were just now experiancing started to take it’s toll. It’s not that her body couldn’t handle it, nor that her mind could, but just the sudden rush of compassion shown by Valmont was enough to make her go crazy. She had heard of this word, but never knew what it meant; love. Is that what Valmont was displaying, the word love? Ruby, by the words combined with the hands over hers made her lose it and her whole body grew transparent, so that Valmont could not feel her warm skin, which was all thanks to him. Being invisible now, Ruby suddenly panicked and ran out the room, almost in tears. Only the sound of her footsteps could be heard, and it was the only thing Valmont knew about if he chose to follow her.

Ruby, if asked to stop, couldn’t hear him. Everything was happening to fast, and there was just no way that someone could make her feel this way. Ruby just didn’t know what to do with herself; she had seemed to grow attached to Valmont but now, now she couldn’t be in the same room as him. She wept and because of that blurry vision, she was hitting the walls. Of course, being a ghost, she could easily go through it. She was outside now, back at the courtyard where Valmont had consumed his food. She dropped there, her body shaking from the raw emotions and switching uncontrollably from transparent to visible.

The Embassy of Hell

Music attracts the most unlikely of guests, and while Valmont had been dancing with his young charge Ruby, another was watching from high in the ceiling. She had been wandering across the realms of Hell, amused by the carryings on by the likes of Greed and Pride. Now she had come to visit what was an old…family friend. Little did she know that Valmont had been entertaining the young Miss Ruby. Like a spider, Charlotte crawled across the roof silently, her hair hanging down as she tried to contain her mirth at the sight of the Ambassador dancing with the strange red hooded girl. She was like a voyeur at times, but that was just her way.

Down below, the Ambassador did not realize that his show of affection had caused Ruby to go completely transparent. But not only that she could no longer be felt. One moment, he was dancing with her, the next she vanished and the only way to tell that she had left the room was by her footfalls, as she ran away. Valmont lowered his arms to his sides, turning ever slightly, as he called out to her. “Ruby?” Had he done something to upset her? He hadn’t used his demon ways against her, in fact it was the opposite. Incubus were not supposed to feel or express an act of genuine love. This was what made it all the more unusual.

This was of course the perfect time for the girl high above to make her presence known.

“You frightened her away….” Charlotte said in a whimsical voice, before letting out a dark chuckle and descended from the ceiling on a strand of silver thread, before her feet bounced upon the floor.

“Ever heard of knocking, Ms Carrendar?”

Valmont didn’t even have to look to know who it was.

“And interrupt the dance? Why that would be rude, and you know me, I like to make an entrance.” The dark haired beauty winked at Valmont saucily, before skipping over to the door, to peak out and see where the girl had gone too. She tutted her tongue before looking back at Valmont.

https://i2.wp.com/i55.tinypic.com/mjmryd.gif

“Did you touch her ass?”

“No…I did no such thing.”

Charlotte pointed at him and then started to walk over with a saucy gait. “But you wanted to.” She grinned, flashing rows of perfect teeth.“Valmont and Ruby..sitting in a tree…K…I….S..S…”

“Enough with the games, Char. What are you doing here?” Valmont was becoming greatly annoyed with the young woman, who was practically giddy at getting under his skin. It was a game to her and she licked the top of her teeth before walking up and behind him.

“Greed is in trouble….again.”

Valmont raised a brow. He knew about the disaster of a ball, but nothing of what happened to Lydia. Clearly, Charlotte knew since she had been staying at the Greed Castle at the time. “Go on.” Valmont said dryly, only interested in this conversation due to the fact that what affected one kingdom, affected all.

“Remember….the suit that Mammon wore to his death?”

“Beserker….yes of course. Horrid thing that it is. The fool was mad for wearing it.”

“Someone stole it. Right….from under Lydia’s nose.”

“Well….”

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/2d/d9/1b/2dd91b19448a5e59004d9d56c7b3eee1.jpg

“Mhm…” Charlotte grinned widely. “Servants…of Sloth.” Why would Charlotte find this so amusing? What was worse, why did the Ambassador suddenly find this very amusing. So, Sloth wanted Beserker? For what possible purpose? Charlotte picked at an imaginary speck of dust on Valmont’s coat and blew it away, as she could see the cogs in Valmont’s mind were turning.

“I suppose this means I should pay them a visit.” Valmont pushed Charlotte’s hand away, which made her pout in a mocking fashion. “And do what? You want to see if Belphegor is derp enough to put it on?”

Valmont snickered loudly. “That’d make my day.” But soon the smile faded from his face, as he remembered that he still had to find Ruby. She was either somewhere in the building or outside. He glanced down at Charlotte who was waiting to see what the Ambassador had planned. “What?” She didn’t like how he changed from being the scoundrel that he was, back to this pompous ambassador. “But really, I can’t. Not yet. I need to find Ruby.”

Charlotte blew a raspberry and rolled her eyes. “Fine…go find your little hooded dolly and play. I think I will go and entertain myself with your staff.” Charlotte blew Valmont a kiss, before sashaying out of the room, headed for Zachary’s office.

Valmont, now alone – pulled on the edges of his jacket, and headed out in the opposite direction for the Embassy gardens, in search of Ruby.

~RB~

Zu:  Her body, her mind, down to her very soul and everything in between was going haywire. Ruby didn’t now what to do with herself. She didn’t have a mouth to scream, maybe to lessen the pain but with her voice lost to the people responsible, Ruby couldn’t do such a thing. The only thing she could do was cry in silence as her image faded and came back like a flicker of a lightbulb. She covered her eyes, shaking terribly and all for what; it was only someone who cared for her. It was nothing special, but to Ruby it was everything. Not once in her life here in Hell had she ever encountered someone who actually gave a damn about her existence. Any time there was a chance, her ghostly powers took over and she wouldn’t interfere with their lives in the slightest. This however, was different, and Ruby couldn’t handle all of these emotions that were hitting her skull like a sledgehammer.

Maybe Ruby needed to kill something, or someone. That could possibly cheer her up, but without the will to even move from her downed position, she wasn’t going to do that. Her mind was so fragile, that another problem came about. Memories, though they were not ones that Ruby knew of. She didn’t know what that even meant but right before her eyes, flashes of blurry images spun through her head like a cog out of control. None made sense, but she did see a few things that stood out. An image of a hag, herself looking human and a flash of light. WHAT THE HELL DID ALL THIS MEAN!?

Razorbackwriter:

The Embassy of Hell

Walking along the corridor, Valmont saw that the door to the gardens was opened, and though it may not have been the direction that Ruby had taken in her flight from the ballroom, it didn’t hurt to take a look outside to see if this was where she had gone. The ambassador grew concerned as he walked out the garden door, and cast his eyes across the vast estate. He happened to glance down to where he and the other staff, along with Ruby had enjoyed a light meal. It was down there that he happened to spot the crimson red hood. This is where she had ended up.

Valmont didn’t run down to be at her side. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her all the more, though he was still unsure as to why she ran in the first place. Had no one ever shown that they had cared for her before? Valmont was not one to know, since he had not yet been able to get much out of her, apart from a nod, and the dance of course.

Ambling down, he walked with his arms at his sides with a troubled expression. It didn’t take much to see that Ruby was deeply distressed. He stopped a good few feet from her and bowed his head.

“I’m sorry…if I upset you.” His words were almost a whisper. “I felt the need to touch you, and if that was inappropriate, than I can’t do enough to beg your forgiveness.”

~RB~

Zu:  Ruby suddenly stopped her shaking when she heard Valmont’s voice. The man that made all this happen, both good and bad, was now right behind her. She turned her head, and slowly let her hood drop down and Valmont would be greeted by a face full of saddness. Her tears flooded her face and made her look quite ugly. Even her stitches got wet, but the one good thing was that her disappearing act was slowly coming to a halt. She just stared at him, almost into his soul, as if asking a question she couldn’t form. One word, there was one word that continued to flash in her mind and scatter all around Valmont. It was the only word she could see. Remembering her board, Ruby, with a shaky hand, grabbed it and tried her best to create this word. She used her entire hand to write it out, and the word was hardly visible when Valmont would see it due to her poor hand-writing but that one word spoke volumes.

Hurts.

The Embassy of Hell

Tall and imposing gates with spiked tips awaited Valmont and his new friend, as they had come back down the path of souls to the Embassy of Hell. Towered peaks were seen high above the tree line, and there was an air of wonder about the imposing sight that lay before them. The gates started to open of their own accord, with Valmont not even having to lift a finger as he strolled along with Ruby. To anyone else, they would think that the Ambassador had done very well for himself in Hell. In the past he had brokered deals between the kingdoms and helped settle disputes, before it all turned to bloodshed and battles. Sadly, he had not managed to quell Mammon’s appetite for getting his hands on other kingdoms, and in particular trying to unseat Gabriel from her new position as Princess of Wrath. Valmont had yet to see Gabriel, but had heard of the curse that Mammon had imposed shortly before taking his last breath. He did not value a woman to take the role of one of the seven heads of hell, and in a way by leaving her with a dick, he would get a dying wish come true. None of that mattered now, of course. No doubt Gabriel would be seeing to have the thing removed. One way or another. It was bound to be the talk of the town, sooner or later. Valmont was in no real hurry to find this out.

As the pair strolled up the drive, Valmont would spot a dinner table all laid out and adorned with candles. Wine chilling in a bucket on a stand and plates all ready to be filled with a sumptuous meal. Someone was expecting his return, but who?

“Hungry?” Valmont asked of Ruby, before realizing that the girl’s crude stitching might stop her from partaking in a meal.“Err…sorry.”

A slight hint of red shade appeared to his cheeks, but he offered to walk Ruby towards the table, and see just who was expecting them.

Zu:

Ruby had never once explored many places since her arrival here in Hell, but she had a feeling she’d see places like this one more often than she ever thought possible. It was a really big embassy, but Ruby thought of it more of a palace or castle. She wouldn’t be able to remember where she saw something like this before; it was in her past, something locked away from her memory thanks to this curse of hers. She still clung to his arm, that way she wouldn’t lose her one and only friend. Ruby wouldn’t know what to do with herself. She hasn’t realized it yet, but she’d become more and more dependence on him, losing her own independence; it was all due to his kindness.

Ruby was lead to the dinner table, something also unfamiliar to her. The only time she rested was on the harsh ground in Hell. When asked if she was hungry, she wasn’t even listening because she was too busy staring in awe at the dinner table. She had taken off her hood, thinking nobody would be around them for a bit and it’d be more comfortable for her, now that she was accepted. Ruby took her seat, yet it didn’t feel right. She got off it and then sat back down, continuing this process until after doing it five more times, took her seat.

Razorbackwriter:  It is customary for a gentleman to hold the chair out and then slide it into position as the female guest takes a seat. Oddly enough, Ruby was having a bit of trouble. Perhaps this was all a bit much for her to take in. A dinner table out in the gardens of the grand estate. Valmont knew nothing but this type of lifestyle, and had hoped that Ruby would grow to like it. Valmont watched as Ruby sat down, then got off….then sat down, then got off. The Ambassador kept trying to move the seat forward, but each time he did, the girl kept hopping up. Valmont showed a perplexed expression till finally Ruby settled in her seat at last.

“That’s the ticket.” Valmont now pleased that he could take his seat at the table.

Soon a line of servants came trickling out of the main building. bringing with them various trays that were each packed with all manners of exotic food. From stuffed pheasant, to wild boar with an apple in it’s mouth. Vegetables with butter that were steaming as the trays were lifted off and then placed on the table neatly. It was enough to make the mouth water, and the taste buds tingle in anticipation. One servant started to pour red wine for Valmont, and he took up the glass, swirling it and inhaling its fine scent.

“Mmm full bodied. Good year too.” This was said after he took a mouthful and swished it about in his mouth, making a strange sucking sound. “Very good. More please.” The waiter filled his glass, then made his way over to the girl and started to fill her glass. Valmont leaned side on so he could see his way around the waiter and whispered.

“Need a straw?”

A door opened and steam came out from it, a male walked out from it. His hair was down and a towel wrapped around his waist, walking over he spied out the window from the side. Noticing he had returned with a guest, he’d better dress and go down. Nicholas walked away and pulled out his cloths that he wore, consisting of a white shirt, with a blue jacket and long black pants. Standing in front of a mirror, the towel dropped from his waist, he looked like a male, with girlish features but, it wasn’t just that. His whole lower half was of a female, he hid this very well most the time. A small sigh escaped his lips as he dressed himself and looked in the mirror, everything looked neat and tidy, just like he liked it. Bringing a towel up to his head, he dried his hair and then did a simple braid on the side. You’d wonder why a male would braid his hair but, he did it for not wanting to to hang down and because of the hormones of wanting to look like a girl, in a way. Sliding his shoes on, he opened his bedroom door and walked out, after making sure everything was folded and put away.

Nicholas walked down the stairs, descending down them to the side door. Opening he walked out and breathed in the cool air, it was indeed nice with the warmth. He continued on walking down a path way and came into view of where he saw both the people, finally stopping by them. ” Welcome back Valmont, I see you guys are enjoying the set up.” a deep but, light voice had said, his head looking over towards the girl. ” I see you brought a guest. I do hope you enjoy your stay and meal Miss.” He said finally and stood there looking back towards Valmont. ” Everything is done and filed, so I think nothing is left to be done.. for now at least. Is there anything else you’d like to be done?” Nicholas asked him and waited for a response.

Zu:  All Ruby could do was stare at the very thing she was oblivous to. She couldn’t remember the last time she had anything related to food. She’s seen it since beginning her life in hell, but never experianced it. Ruby would try to remember if she ever had something called food, but nothing came up. She had her hood up, thankfully, and made sure of it, because just as she had promised herself, only Valmont could see her face, as he gave her the time of day to even associate himself with the likes of her. Ruby could only stare at the glass that shouldn’t belong to her, being poored in front of her. When asked if she needed a straw, she could only stare at the glass. Ruby didn’t really want anything, even if she could, but that mattered not because the glass seemed far too interesting to her than Valmont at the moment.

Just as she was about to look at Valmont once again, she heard another voice and almost jumped out her skin in fright, about to pull out her blade as her instincts would have her do, but she fought against that and turned to see a female talking to Valmont. She couldn’t tell it was a male, even with the voice, as the body was of a female. She just looked at Nicholas blankly, her face still covering her features. Ruby would continue to stare before looking back at the table.

Razorbackwriter:  ” Welcome back Valmont, I see you guys are enjoying the set up.”

There was no mistaking the voice of Valmont’s secretary; Nicholas, who had just strolled out into the garden dinner setting. Welcoming back the Ambassador and of course, his guest. Valmont set down a napkin he was about to lay over his lap and rose to standing at Nicholas’s arrival, offering a light now, before gesturing a gloved hand towards Ruby. His guest had been studying the wine glass in detail and at no time made a move to actually attempt to drink from it. Perhaps food and drink were not her thing. Still Valmont had his manners, and could only smile when Nicholas hoped the girl would enjoy her stay.

“Charming as ever, my good friend. I would like to introduce….well, I am not sure of her name for she is unable to communicate. Let us call her…” Valmont took in the color of her cape and then chimed a pet name. “Ruby” It was a name that was not only easy to remember, but quite feminine. The ambassador paused, and listened to Nicholas ask if there was anything else that needed to be done, as all the filing was up to date. Valmont offered Nicholas a seat at the table, before he himself sat down.

“I am sure you are aware that the Greed Kingdom was putting on a ball this evening. Course, it ended in disaster before it had truly begun.” Valmont pressed his hands together just below his chin. How did he know this? Well, seeing and hearing disfigured demons in ball gowns hurrying from the estate, along with great blasts of fire and light in the sky was a pretty good indication. “I dare say it was a right ballroom blitz.” In a way, Valmont was glad he missed it, but miffed at not knowing who was amongst the dead. It was his job to keep tabs on all the Royals and for now that was something he needed to catch up on. First things first though, he had his guest to consider.

Valmont picked up his wine glass, and turned the glass around by the stem as he gaze at Ruby, whilst thinking…obviously.

“The royals can wait. No sooner is one crowned, another falls. It’s just happening at a faster rate than normal.”Valmont let out a sigh. “We have only just come through the War of Wrath, and no doubt there will be some repercussions over that. Hostility carried forth even after the final march of the drums.” Valmont set down his glass, then asked Nicholas. “I have a small task, though it might take some time. I wondered if you might work with me, in helping this dear girl learn to communicate. She knows nothing of how to engage, aside from a nod…or a head shake. Do you have any thoughts?”

~RB~

Tsu:  Standing there by them observing, his eyes went to Ruby’s to watch her for moment and looked back. Did she know? Something seemed a bit odd and he wasn’t sure, regardless he’d have to be careful. Oh how hectic it’d probably turn if anything was known, it’d be a ball. Finally coming to he listened to Valmont talk and thought about it, it must of been some night. Lifting his hand he rubbed the back of his head a bit and let out a small sigh. ” It must of been a busy night, huh. I did indeed hear and it probably was a spectacular ball.” He said with a bit of sarcastic tone to it, being playful towards it. Shortly a second later he’d chuckle at the last of his words of the ball and simply shook his head. He wondered what Valmont was thinking, while staring at her and holding a glass. You never honestly knew much anymore about what people thought at times.

” She can’t speak? Well, that’s rather weird but, we all have our own things.. I guess.” That would indeed be a task, how to teach someone how to communicate. A couple of ideas passed through his mind but, he wasn’t so sure. Nicholas looked at Ruby once again and mentally faced palmed. ” Excuse my manners, its nice to meet you Ruby, I’m Nicholas. I think it’ll be fun to help you with this communication thing.” He said and looked over to Valmont, a small smile came to his lips as he thought for a second. ” Well, of course I wouldn’t mind, I’m your Secretary after all and will do whatever is needed. As for ways to communicate.. how about sign language? or for starters we could set her up with a piece of paper and pen, tech her how to write? Then, she could use words through writing but, that might take a little while too.” Nicholas said and let out another sigh as he waited and hoped one of the two would work, if not they’d both have to think of something soon.

Zu:  Just because she wasn’t paying attention, didn’t mean that she wasn’t listening to what the two were exchanging. She started to mess around with what was around her as they were talking to each other. Ruby was really interested in what was surrouding her, never before has she experianced this before. It seemed she would be called Ruby, and there was a jolt in her brain that was only there for a moment but in that moment, something sprang up that she should be remembering. She looked around the place, having the face of someone who saw a shadow but quickly dismissed it. Of course, all her reactions were covered by her hood. She went back to playing with the silverware; Ruby looked like a child the entire time, which wasn’t a surprise.

Razorbackwriter:  ” She can’t speak? Well, that’s rather weird but, we all have our own things.. I guess.”

Indeed, this was true. Valmont for one had his own flaws that he had carefully masked over the years. The times he had to bite his tongue and not burst out loud at the ridiculous proclamations made by various Princes over the years. Often curbing his own carnal desires as he watched women throw themselves at the regal heads of state. Though it was a different story when it came to those that served beneath the glistening ballrooms and darkened chambers. Valmont had learnt how to come about the most tantalizing gossip that was whispered from the very sheets of those he served. As of the moment, he was out of the loop, but he always had a way of getting back in. He was of course discreet in just who he spoke to. Being surrounded by such immoral creatures allowed him to be influenced by them, and taking pride at times in outshining them. Not that they knew that. But in this setting, butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth. Valmont did enjoy Nicholas’s company. Strange in a way. Valmont was not interested in the same sex, but there was something about Nicholas that usually tugged at the very pit of the Ambassador’s being. Valmont would never pry of course, but he just found himself taken in. Nicholas was not rash or one to be boastful. Didn’t parade around like some mad fop, but instead with an almost casual serenity. It was peaceful and relaxing to be in his presence.

Nicholas gladly offered to assist in helping their young hooded charge in learning to communicate, though this might require many hours and a lot of patience.

“And this is why I hold you so highly, Nicholas. Always ready to step up to the plate.” The Ambassador rising from his chair, no longer interested in food, but the newest challenge that was sitting before him. While Nicholas’s idea of a pen and paper were good ones to help start in the teaching, Valmont had another idea.

“I was thinking more a small chalk board. About the same size as a notepad. Tied with string so she can wear it around her neck. If we are going to teach her, she’d need a lot of paper. A chalkboard can be erased and written on, again and again.” Starting off simply, might be the go.

Approaching Ruby, he knelt one one knee so that again they can meet eye to eye. He noted her hood was down and he gazed up at her face. He was not afraid of what lay beneath it. Having already seen the curse – her vile stitching. Whilst he had thought of trying to break her free from it, he also didn’t want to spook her. Baby steps were sometimes needed. Another thought came to mind. She carried a weapon. A sword that she would easily un sheath when threatened. Was this because in another life she was a warrior? It would be so much easier if she could tell them.

Watching her play with the silverware, Valmont gathered that food and drink were also foreign to her. She wouldn’t be able to open her mouth. What had he been thinking? It brought from him a sigh.

“How foolish I have been? Swept up in my own world to see that this is all very new to you.” He rose to standing and offered Ruby his hand. “Why not come inside, and we can show you the beauty of the Embassy.”

If she did take up his offer, one of the rooms that they would go to was a training room. For sword fighting.

Ruby – SS.

A new chapter in the Seven Sins series, with Valmont – the Ambassador meeting a young woman known simply as Ruby.

Scene setting – Isolated Cliff – Seven Sins series.

Nothing, absolute nothing.

The Path of Souls called to her as she made her way here, and now without their moans and groans, she was alone and things were dead quiet. The lonely ghost would be like this for a little while, she just wanted some peace and quiet. The girl’s name was Ruby, though nobody knew that nor knew this ghost was female. The only thing people know about her is the nickname associated with her, Bloody Hood. A drifter, lazily moving from one end to another without anyone noticing her. Was it for the better? Nobody could live this sad life, nobody except Ruby. Ghosts weren’t too common here, because they would either have their own bodies or take control of others, making it their own as time past. For Ruby, she was just… human looking. There was no body to possess, nobody would want her. Ruby would just be here, alone. That was just the way she wanted it to be, yet when that thought sprang to life, a tear fell off her cheek; was it what she truly wanted?

Razorbackwriter:  The black carriage drawn by two horses that matched perfectly came to a stop just off the pathway that lead to one of the quieter, more isolated parts of Hell. Resting on the window ledge was a gloved hand that drummed the sides as the carriage shunted to a stop. The driver knocked on the roof of the carriage to signal their arrival, and a loud sigh was heard from within. Valmont opened the carriage door slowly, and then descended the small foot holds till landing with both heeled shoes on the light gravel surface.

“Return the carriage to my abode. I need time to think.”

The Driver gave a curt nod, his face partially obscured by a black face mask – only his red eyes could be seen. He clicked his tongue and snapped on the reigns so the carriage would start to move and head back to town. Valmont stood solemnly, before slowly removing the ornate black mask that he was going to wear to the Greed Ball. Word was already spreading of how the festivities had turned into a blood bath. Scores of demons having fled the scene and running past Valmont’s carriage in the town square. So much for the ambassador’s plans that eve. What with the royalty scattering like cockroaches back into their own kingdoms, there would be no need for Valmont’s services.

Slowly, the well dressed Incubus strolled up the pathway to what would be a sheer cliff face with a look out. It was the perfect place to think…to contemplate. To regroup.

As he walked along, he kicked a few small stones – his face so pale, thanks to the makeup that he wore so often. He still liked to keep some traditions alive from his former life. Oh how easy it was then. Now, however there were changes coming once more. Perhaps not a war, like that of Wrath….but there was a feeling of uncertainty. If only Valmont had the clairvoyance to see that far ahead.

It was only when Valmont lifted his gaze, did he notice the outline of what looked to be a hooded woman. The Incubus glanced about to see if she was truly alone, and all he saw was dark bushes and a stone bench. There was no one else there. Could she be admiring the view on such a night?

Valmont took out a small silver box of snuff, and tapped on the lid to open it. He brought a pinch of it up to his right nostril and inhaled sharply. Throwing his head back and letting out a loud gasp. That was the ticket. He snapped the silver box shut once more. The noise sure to be loud enough to let the woman know….she was not alone.

~RB~

Zu:  Though she rather have some company, for some strange reason, it was nice to be by yourself. Ruby knew that more than anyone else what it was like to be alone… but did anyone know what it was like to be afriad. She wasn’t so well known, but those who could see her red hood knew she was a killer, nothing more. That sort of thought really sent a chill down Ruby’s spine, her body shaking only for a moment. It had been what seemed like years, decades even, since she first arrived here. How was the question of the century; Ruby only had the most vague of dreams, if that’s what they even were, about her past but it never was clear. Her thoughts would come to a halt, because she suddenly heard a noise behind her. Her instincts kicked in, and she jumped off her seat and landed on her feet, blade ready when she was in her readied stance. Ruby had let her guard down, but it seemed like nothing because she didn’t see anyone… at first. Ruby wasn’t too sure, but she thought she could see someone a bit in the distance. Ruby didn’t call out to this outline.

Razorbackwriter:  The snap of the snuff box had done the trick. Though it might have startled the hooded girl, rather than just alerting her to the fact that there was someone else there on that windy cliff. Valmont drew his head back slightly at the way that the girl leapt up, sword at the ready. A feisty one indeed. The incubus carefully deposited his snuff box back into the breast pocket of his velvet jacket, before sweeping his gloved hand across the flap to ensure it was tucked away safely.

A shock of red fabric, that was the first thing that Valmont noticed about the lass. That…and the fact she was ready to attack, should he make a sudden move. This was the reason that Valmont moved with a fluid like motion, so as not to alarm the girl further.

“Ah ah.” Valmont waggled his finger to and fro, ,before speaking in an almost condescending way. “A gentleman can be killed with such a blade, and dearie, I am not looking for a fight.” With all the finesse of a poet he added. “I have died many small deaths, well before this night.”

Slowly, he started to stroll towards the girl, before stopping just out of blade range. He still held the mask in his hand and then as any gentleman would do on meeting a young lady for the first time, he stepped back with his right foot, his arms swanning out as he made a more formal introduction.

“Vicomte de Valmont…I am the Ambassador to the Seven kingdoms.”

Would the ruby hooded young lady attempt to slice him in two, as he rose from his bow?

~RB~

Zu:  Ruby just stood there, scythe at the ready. However did that, they should have snuck up on her if their intention was to kill. Ruby wasn’t a pushover when it came to taking care of herself. Finally, the man that alerted her to his presence stepped out of the dark to reveal that… he wasn’t the killer type. Ruby almost let down her blade, but realized it could have been a ploy and it only made her grip it more tightly. Ruby knew that if this man, who she would know as Valmont, would try to attack her, she wouldn’t be in a great position. Who knew just how far, if there was even an end, to this cliff. Ruby knew this, and because of this, didn’t turn around to find out. He spoke, and the way he spoke wasn’t to Ruby’s liking. It was almost like he was taunting her, was he confident in his abilities?

He came closer, without any regret, and it only made Ruby tense up even more. As of late, her opponents were nothing to her but she had never experianced someone like this before. Ruby took a step back, peddles signaling her to stop because she was indeed on the edge, figuratively and literally. Just as he was close to the blade, which got even closer to his throat, he just.. stepped back. This caused Ruby to once again lower her guard a bit. After introducing himself, he just stopped movement all together. This was her chance, if he was an enemy, to strike. Yet, no matter how much she wanted to, Ruby only spun her blade behind her to put it away. She just looked at Valmont, with not an expression or a response. Her entire face was still covered.

Razorbackwriter:  It was almost like playing Russian roulette. The bow made at a point where the girl had every chance to slice him through if she felt so inclined. Valmont had speed, oh yes – but, this was far more exhilarating to live on the edge. He had dealt with some of hell’s worst and then some. Stood at the foot of the dais of each and every throne in Hell and managed to come out alive, either by sheer luck or the magic of his silver tongue. Though whilst in the movement of the bow, his face was partially obscured from the hooded maiden’s view, he could only bare a grin as he felt the seconds tick by and he had not been attacked. Had his actions caused her to second guess what only came natural? Perhaps.

On rising he watched the girl spin the blade and re-sheath it neatly behind her. Valmont did his utmost to hide his look of satisfaction, and decided since the girl did not wish to speak, that it would be left for him to do so.

“Thank you.” Valmont gave a light head tilt with a nod to show appreciation for her actions. The incubus reached for his right frilly cuff and gave it a small tug, before walking towards the edge of the cliff. There was nothing to stop him from falling, and he simply stared outward as though something else now plagued his mind. It was hard to tell, except when he held up the mask that he was to wear at the party. He turned it over in his hand and then without word he simply released it and watched it flutter away. The wind taking it….to God knows where.

Valmont lowered his hand slowly and then brought both hands around to clasp behind his back. He should have been at that ball this eve. Had he not been made late. Now he was truly behind the game. The chess pieces had all moved without his hand and it annoyed him greatly. Finally, he spoke.

“What is a life…without purpose? Hmm?”

The incubus glanced sideways at the hooded girl, and wondered if she felt the same way.

~RB~

Zu:  Just because she had put away her weapon did not mean she wasn’t watching his every move, though she felt a bit more safe than she normally would, was this just a part of his presence? Ruby had never felt like this before, being so safe. This wouldn’t mean she would trust Valmont, he looked very shady and by that knowledge, wasn’t that different from the other beings in Hell that she had encountered. He had thanked her for sparing his life, and Ruby didn’t give so much as a nod of acknowledgement to his words of gratitude. He stepped beside her, his presence not arousing any sort of hostility toward her. Ruby wouldn’t quite capture his face, thanks to the mask, but she saw some features, though they were very vague, like his ears. However, when he let his mask come off, his face was clear.

Valmont wasn’t like the people she saw daily, he was more… noble. He must have been powerful if he looked like that, only those with such a figure would be powerful, financially. Ruby watched the mask fly away, something like that simply had no meaning for him. He spoke once again, this time asking something quite obscure, according to Ruby. She turned her head toward him, giving this blank stare that wasn’t revealed as the hood was the only thing he could see out of her face. Nothing came out of her mouth, as usual, but by her body language, she was confused.

Razorbackwriter:

https://i0.wp.com/p5.storage.canalblog.com/51/08/289978/12602811.jpg

“No words?….Nothing? Not even a titter? I must be losing my touch.” Valmont lamented, as the hooded girl stared at him as though she was completely confused by not only Valmont’s words, but also his actions. He held a hand out to the wind as though to shake someone’s hand.

“The mask was for a society do this eve. Not that I got to see it.” He paused only briefly before adding. ” Not that it matters.” It was almost like the Ambassador was talking to himself. The incubus smiled weakly before turning to look out at the vast expanse of emptiness that was before them both. Hell for many was a prison of sorts, for others a playground to commit wicked deeds. There were those that took advantage of the less fortunate souls trapped within its confines. To be standing on the edge of the cliff was as far as you could get from the swollen belly of sin. This was the one place that Valmont would come to think, to regather his thoughts, and to plot his next move. Course, the Princes of Hell had kept him quite busy up till now. That was before the war…before the change of guard. Women. Ha, and one of them was actually a man cursed to be a woman. Mammon had a sense of humor at the last moments of his life. The daft git.

Women were to Valmont, what wine was to an alcoholic. He was addicted, drawn to savor the warm boldness of taste, though Valmont bawked at going anywhere near the likes of Lydia. The new Princess of Greed. Foul woman she was. He imagined that her juices tasted like vinegar….or worse. He even shuddered at the very thought. Ew.

But this once, as he stood along side the mute in the flowing red cape, he did not feel the usual urges to conquer. Strange. He really was off his game. Oh…hell.

“Did your enemy remove your tongue?” He started to wonder, if this creature was in fact, a lost soul.
