Things had gotten very thick between the two males now. He could see how the emotions on Valmonts face changed, he had just realized what he did. Listening to his words he did love him, he loved no one else. Thinking about it, if Nicholas was in Valmont’s shoes and walked in like that, what would he of done? He surely wouldn’t of killed someone but, he would of been enraged by it. The sadness and confusion that was on Val’s face made Nicholas regret a bit of what he had said, he had said something else verses asking if he was okay. Once the door shut Nicholas stood there not entirely sure what he was suppose to do. So many things welled up inside him, he wasn’t sure if he was suppose to go after him or leave him. This was somewhat Nicholas fault too, he thought so. Hearing a knock at the door he saw someone he knew that he could trust. Mina, a small sigh of relief came to him.
” Mina, I need you to clean this up and cover it up, you’re so good at doing it. I will reward you later.” He said and the girl only smiled and nodded at him.
Moments after Nicholas was out the door, trailing after Valmont. He didn’t care if people were looking at him, thinking about what had just happened tears started to form in his eyes. Jogging he had sense Valmont near and saw his back, people were whispering and wondering what was going on. Finally in the spur of the moment, Nicholas had collided with Valmonts back, his arms wrapping around his waist. Tears had fallen from his eyes completely now as he squeezed the male tight in the embrace.
” It’s not your fault, you didn’t know what you were doing. I’m sorry, I should of been more focused on your feelings. “ He spoke, it coming out somewhat in a slur. Maids and workers were gathering around or hiding behind the turn ways watching. ” If I was in your shoes at the time, I would of probably done the same thing. I would of let jealously got the better of me. I don’t want to let you go. “ He spoke in a sincere tone and what he had said next would be ended with workers gasping. ” I love you Valmont! I’ll love no one else, I want to always be by your side, forever.” Nicholas said a bit louder then he expected.
People were whispering now and gossiping, oh how it was out there now. What would everyone think about it? It wasn’t known but, he didn’t care. He just wanted to hold this man in front of him. If Valmont had any doubts about Nicholas ever coming out about his sexuality and his relationship with Valmont, they’d be blow away now.

Valmont was deep in thought. Troubled by the act of violence that he committed in front of his lover. The feeling of utter disappointment in himself for letting his jealous streak turn into a murderous stunt now left him wondering if Nicholas could ever forgive him. He walked silently with his head bowed. So shameful. It was eating him up inside, his stomach twisting up in knots. How could he face Nicholas again? Was the love affair over before it had truly blossomed?
The answer to this came in the form of hurried footsteps and the staff all raised their voices as the pair collided. Nicholas winding his arms around his lover as Valmont froze in his place. What on earth was he doing? Valmont could only wonder till he heard his lover say that it wasn’t Val’s fault.
“But…” All he could get out was one simple word, for Nicholas was speaking so fast it was impossible to interject. Now the focus was on the pair. There was no escaping this public outing. It was turning into a show, one which the maids and staff could hardly look away from. The truth was about to be exposed. There was no hiding it now.
One thing about Nicholas that remained true, was when he needed to get something off his chest. The words like a torrent that continued to flow till he was exhausted or got to the point.
But then with much power in his voice he declared his love for Valmont, much to the shock of the entire staff that were all watching and listening in. It was a spectacle. A real soap opera. There was no running from it.
Valmont reached down to take Nicholas’s hands and then turned so that the pair could look at each other. He would speak, but made sure it was loud and clear for all to hear.
“And you shall have me by your side. I’m not ashamed. I love you, and only you, Nicholas.”
The crowd gasped again, as they watched Valmont kiss his lover deeply, while his hands cupped his cheeks.

Gasps and gossiping had erupted and Nicholas didn’t care, at the moment he only cared about the man in front of him. He never wanted to let him go, truly. He heard his but and didn’t have any response to it, he had a fault in this too, he wouldn’t let Valmont be the only one to take blame for it. Biting his lip some he’d feel him turn in his grasp and hold his hand. A small blush came to his cheeks, they were doing this in front of the people. Would this mean they’d be official now then? It most likely would, it’d be interesting to see how it turned out. Hearing his words he only smiled at them, really listening and accepting them. Once he felt his lips to his own, he would lift his hands up to grab a hold of Valmonts shirt, pulling him in more.
His lips moved against his in a deep passion, he so enjoyed it and wished it could be like that forever. But, he knew well enough that it couldn’t and things would be back to the way they were. Just this time around everyone would know and they wouldn’t need to hide, besides if they got really intimate. The thought kind of made him laugh in his head, he’d never get naked in front of someone else, let alone like Val would let him to it. His hands relaxed a bit but kept hold of his shirt, his eyes were shut now. Nothing else was in that room besides the two, the other people were non existent to him. He could take that their were glares at him and a couple of blushes from other girls at the moment and he didn’t care if the female workers hated him, he had what he wanted and he wouldn’t let anything get in the way. Those were his words but, it would change later on and he didn’t know that.
The kiss was one of true love. Anyone watching could see that. Valmont was totally unashamed, in fact he was more than happy to give the staff of the Embassy a real show. His moans grew as he kissed Nicholas with a passion that was usually reserved for the bedroom. His hands wandering from the young man’s back to his ass, where he pulled him tight to his own hips.
Yes, the staff gasped, some were shocked while others were blushing fiercely. It was like some erotic display. You might be led to think that the Ambassador would take him right then and there – against the nearest wall.
Feeling the young man holding his shirt, Valmont let out a growl of pleasure and only pulled away from the kiss when he had made up his mind about how to deal with all this in a manner that would leave no doubt in anyone’s mind that the pair were an item.
Valmont reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pouch. He smiled down at it as he undid the small silk string that held it closed tight and the edges opened, as he put his hand in and retrieved a necklace. But there was something hanging on the edge that was like that of a ring.
The ambassador got down on one knee, much to the shock of the audience that had now gathered. This was the most dramatic thing to happen in the embassy since the last meeting of the Princes. Clearing his throat, he held up the ring towards his lover, and with a glint in his eyes he asked the question that would have all gasp once more.
“Nicholas. I never thought I would ever ask anyone this, but my feelings for you are stronger than just love. I want you to be the one that I wake up to. I want you to be the one that shares my bed. You are everything I have ever searched for in a soul mate. What I am asking is…..Nicholas, will you be my wife?”

The softness and comfort of the kiss had been one Nicholas missed. He wanted to always kiss Valmont but, there was passion behind this one. Feeling his hands down his back and onto his ass, pulling him against a moan would slip out. Nicholas could already feel his body working in wanting more, but it ended as he pulled away. His face was slightly red and he simply looked at Valmont, he loved his so much. What made him curious was that he was looking in his pocket and pulled out a small package, seeing it unwrapped he wondered what it was. It looked like a necklace, a ring on it? It must of been some gift and joy was spreading through him. He was glad to be receiving something from his lover but, once he was down on one knee, he froze. What was he doing? Is he doing what I think he is doing? No.. it can’t be, is it? So much had rushed through his head at that moment, it felt like the air had been sucked out of him. Everyone was gasping, along with Nicholas himself, he couldn’t believe the sight before him.
Nicholas was speechless, surprise had shocked him beyond belief. This man, that he had known for years, who is now his lover his proposing to him. Nicholas never thought it’d happen in his life, it was truly a dream. He just stood there staring at him, did he want to? It didn’t cross his mind but, a lot came with marriage, something he wasn’t sure about. This had all still been new for him. You’d think he was going to run away but, he didn’t. He stayed and put his hand down onto his, holding his hands in his with the necklace. Nicholas dropped to his knees with Val and smiled a warm smile, slightly letting a couple of tears fall, tears of joy. Moments later he looked Valmont straight in the eyes, wanting him to see how he was and that he loved him just as much. He didn’t care if people knew about them now, or knew of what Nicholas was, he had let it out when he asked for him to be his wife.
” Yes, I will.”

What a difference a day makes. The news of Valmont’s proposal had ripped around the Embassy like wildfire. No one on staff or those associated with the Embassy were even aware of their affair, so the whole thing was totally out of the blue. On rising, Valmont had gone down to the staff quarters and then walked straight into the staff dining hall, where all were seated to breakfast. On his arrival, the chairs were all pushed back, as they all rose to standing at the Ambassador’s unexpected arrival. It was unusual for him to even be in the lower part of the Embassy, but he had very good reason. The Head of house, Mister Crawford stood to attention – while the maids and footmen all waited and watched expectantly to what Valmont had to say.
Pulling lightly upon his right cuff, he urged all to take their seats again and apologized for interrupting their breakfast. With all being urged to take their seats again, by Mister Crawford, Valmont was then ready to say what he had come down for.
“I’m sure that you are all well aware of my proposal to Nicholas to be my wife.”
Again, the staff all stared at one another silently, before Mister Crawford was game enough to answer.
“One could hardly miss such news, Sir.”
“Quite. Well, I know that Nicholas has been considered a member of staff here for a long time, but that is all to change. Starting today. He is to have breakfast served to him in his room as is customary to those of higher standing in the household. Nicholas is to be treated with the utmost respect, and there shall be no ill whispers to be said about the engagement.”
The staff room was still in silence, but you could see a few heads nodding, now that they understood that this was a very real situation, though some may find it unusual.
“I shall have Benson wait on him and arrange a breakfast tray immediately, Sir.” Mister Crawford motioned for cook to go and make preparations for Nicholas’s tray immediately, which she left the dining table right away to do. Benson stood up from the staff dining table and bowed, before going to help in the kitchen. Seeing as everyone was keeping their thoughts to themselves, Valmont was about to leave, when a young maid couldn’t help but ask.
“Is there to be a spring wedding, Sir?” The hubub and rise of voices brought an amused expression from the Ambassador.
“Well, we will have to see what Nicholas wants. it’s not really for me to say.” Happy that his instructions had been taken on board, he bid the staff a good day, and headed back upstairs towards his office. He had a spring in his step and a broad smile upon his face. He was more than happy to let Nicholas sleep in today. He was going to need all the energy he could muster, if the Ambassador had anything to say about it. Course, there was the matter of Zachary who was still on the trail of Bandit and the unborn child. That was still in the back of his mind, naturally. There had been no progress reports, but it was still too early to speculate if Zachary had found her before Raul did.
Entering his office, a staffer was ready with a coffee pot and poured Valmont a cup.
“I never pictured you as a married man, Sir.” The staffer said, as Valmont took the offered cup. “Neither did I, Jenson…Neither did I.”
